Ms. Janie has over 25 years of experience in the field of education specializing in: reading writing, and science. She received her Bachelors degree from the University of Arkansas, and is certified in Six Traits Writing. Ms. Janie has been honored with numerous awards including: Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Instructor of Economics Education in the International Marketplace, Walker Elementary, Arkansas; Teacher of the Year Runner-Up, Kensington Elementary, South Carolina; Science Teacher of the Year, Seaside Neighborhood School, Florida. Ms. Janie is also listed in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers”. Most notable among Ms. Janie’s accomplishments was being selected to carry the Olympic torch because of her dedication to students and education.
Ms. Mandi is a 2007 graduate of the University of West Florida. She recieved Bachelors degrees in both Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education and carries an ESOL endorsement. During her time at the University of West Florida, Ms. Mandi was inducted into Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society. Ms. Mandi has experience with students of all ages and ability levels. Currently, Ms. Mandi is working towards her Masters degree in the field of Exceptional Student Education/Consultation and Collaboration with a specialization in Autism.
Ms. Megan is a 2010 Suma Cum Laude graduate of the University of West Florida with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. While at the University of West Florida, Ms. Megan was inducted into the Honors Society and awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate Student award by the Math and Statistics Department. Ms. Megan was also awarded a scholarship for a research project on Bioinformatics. Currently, Ms. Megan is working towards her Masters degree in Mathematics at the University of West Florida.
Mr. Chris has been tutoring students in the areas of math and reading since 2004. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of West Florida with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Chris was involved in the University of West Florida Math Club. He was also invited to join the National Honors Society. Mr. Chris is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Mathematics from the University of West Florida.
Ms. Jill received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Human Relations/Psychology from Judson College in Elgin, Illinois. Jill went on to earn her Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities from the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois. She has seven years of experience in public school education; working with students in grades one through five and grades nine through twelve. Jill has been tutoring for the Sylvan Learning Center for over eight years. She has tutored all areas including: Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Math Essentials, and Academic Writing. During Jill’s tenure with Sylvan, she has also served as the Director of Education for the Gulf Breeze Sylvan Learning Center. Jill is a very dedicated, accomplished, and experienced teacher.
