Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Pamela is a state certified teacher and has a wealth of experience providing leadership and direction for the education and care of children. Her responsibilities at Sylvan Learning Center include meeting with parents, overseeing the learning center and the Prometric Technology Center, administration and hiring, and school visits.
Pamela loves working with students, both children and adults. When asked what she liked teaching, Pamela did not respond "Reading" or "Math". Her emphatic response was, "Students."
Aimee holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University. Aimee's been a member of the Sylvan team for over 3 years. Her responsibilities include meeting with parents to determine and monitor student goals, communicating with the student's classroom teachers, and training Sylvan staff members.
Aimee loves to be able to see students succeed at the center and then see them build their confidence to carry what they learned at Sylvan into the classroom. There is nothing more rewarding then having a student share with us the fact that they did well on a test, or that they got an A in a class at school for the first time!
Program Manager, Megan McDermott, is a 2008 graduate of Millersville University. She earned her bachelor's degree in Education and is certified in Art (K-12).
Megan's responsibilities at Sylvan include teaching, preparing student's lessons, getting the classroom ready for daily instruction, testing new students, and planning transition time.
Megan believes that building strong relationships with each student is very important to his/her growth and success. Students can achieve their goals if they feel like they have people who believe in them and support them along the way. Megan knows that Sylvan is where students receive the guidance and attention needed to reach and obtain their goals!
Jessica Whitlock is a Graduate of Millersville University, with a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Before joining the team at Sylvan, Jessica taught Kindergarten and worked as an assistant director for an early childhood center in Lancaster, Pa.
Jessica is certified in PA to teach children from birth thru 6th grade. Jessica believes that all children have the ability to learn. It is her goal to be able to help students discover the joy of knowledge, and to help them be successful in reaching their full potential.
