Center Instructor
As a part-time Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are:
Just Teaching!
No Lesson Plans.
No Preparation.
If you aspire to inspire, then we want you on our team!
You will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a 3:1 setting. As a Sylvan Instructor, you will provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep and State exams to students of all levels.
As a successful Instructor, you will teach Sylvan programs, supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction, reward students for completed assignments, evaluate and document student progress, and communicate student needs to the center manager. You will also inspire students by developing rapport with them and establishing a fun learning environment, maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching and for Sylvan.
We require:
Bachelor’s degree
State level teaching certification (current or expired, not required for math instruction)

ACT Prep Coach
Sylvan Learning Center in Shiloh is actively seeking an enthusiastic and engaging high school level instructor for immediate placement as a coach in our ACT Prep program. Instructors must score 28 or better on an ACT exam (scores from high school are valid!) in order to work in our program. ACT Prep instructors must love working with HS students and be comfortable teaching skills and strategies in all four content areas: English, Reading, Math and Science. Teacher certification is desirable but not required. Tutoring/ classroom teaching experience is a must!
