Christina Tedder
Center Director
I graduated from Waterloo High School and attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. I owned my own business from 2000-2006. I began my career with Sylvan Learning Center in February of 2006. One of the greatest feelings is watching students who have struggled academically to finally succeed and watch their self-esteem fly through the roof! Sylvan is a blessing to so many!
Ryan Welter
Instructor/ACT Coach
Ryan has been with Sylvan since 2004. He graduated from McKendree College with a degree in History and Secondary Education. Currently he is attending SIU - Edwardsville for a Masters degree in Public Administration.
Greg Brumm
Math / ACT Specialist
Gregg graduated with a BS in Mathematics and Secondary Education from U of I- Urbana. He has worked as a substitute teacher in a variety of school districts, most recently at O'Fallon High School and E. St. Louis Sr. High School. Greg has volunteered with the Vis-A-Vis tutoring program through U of I. Greg is certified in all Sylvan programs but specializes in ACT Prep and Upper-Level Math, including Calculus.
Tiffany Montville
Instructor
Tiffany graduated from McKendree University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Middle School Endorsements in Social Studies and Language Arts. One of Tiffany’s biggest accomplishments since graduating was being hired as an aide in a Kindergarten classroom. She is dedicated to providing students with the extra help they need to succeed in academics and is very excited to work for Sylvan!
Kimberly Balius
Instructor
Kimberly Balius graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Alabama with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education English/Language Arts. As a military spouse, she has moved around frequently and taught various grades and subjects in Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas. She believes teaching is definitely challenging at times; however, the fulfillment she obtains knowing she is impacting who a child will become is invaluable. Kimberly has a wonderful Coast Guard husband and three affectionate dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising and solving word puzzles. Kimberly is certified in all Sylvan programs.
Jonathan Townsend
Instructor/ACT Coach
Jonathan recently relocated to the St. Louis metro area from Chicago. Jonathan attended the University of Kentucky, earning a B.A. in English and has just completed a Master's of Education at DePaul University in Chicago. Jonathan has a passion for working with Middle and High School students. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys running, playing both soccer and guitar, reading and, of course, teaching.
