Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Dave Lyman
Director
Dave has been a Director with Sylvan since 2000, before that he taught at Needham High School and Dean College. His favorite program is SAT prep because students can raise their scores by 200 points in one month. Thats sometimes the difference between going to Boston College or Harvard.
Dave is a Providence College alum and has a Masters Degree in Education. Massachusetts certified teacher since 1995.
Katie
Teacher
Katie has been a teacher at Sylvan since 2005. She received her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood education from Stonehill College. She was a teacher in Taunton before having two children and now we are lucky to have her as a part time teacher.
Hobbies include scrap booking and Baking.
LeeAnn
Teacher
LeeAnne started with Sylvan in 2006. She is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College and has a degree in Elementary education. LeeAnn was a pre-school and first grade teacher in West Bridgewater prior to having a baby.
LeeAnn loves to Sing, read and write, she also has a beagle puppy.
Maureen
Teacher
Maureen has been a teacher with us since 2005. She is a graduate of Lesley University with a degree in Early Childhood and Special needs. She loves Gardening, going to the beach and spending time with her family.
Heather P
Teacher
Heather has been teaching with us since 2004. Her undergraduate degrees from Bowdoin College are in Economics and Dance. Her degree in education is from Bridgewater State College. She teaches High School English in Holbrook.
Heather is a competitive Ballroom Dancer and has a pet plant named Albert.
Cristy D

Math Essentials, Academic Reading Tutor
Loves to help the high school students with English Projects (she was on the Dean's list in college as an English major)
Charlie
Teacher
Charlie has been a teacher with us since 2005. He has a bachelors degree in computer science. He was a teacher at Southeastern Regional Vocational school; now he builds and sells wishing wells.
Charlie's hobbies include cooking and woodworking, several of us have tried recipes from his website.

Cheryl
Teacher
Cheryl has been with us since 2003, she has her Masters in Education from Boston College. She has been a teacher for 26 years, during that time she has taught all abilities and seems to have taught in all settings.
She is very proud of her son who was the Valedictorian at Bristol Aggie and is now a Sophomore at Rivier College in New Hampshire.

Elizabeth is new to Sylvan, she started teaching here in March. Elizabeth graduated from Bridgewater State college with a bachelors degree in Math.
She plays the clarinet and sings in several Choral groups. She was spotted by a couple of our families singing at the TCMS graduation in June.
Heather B
Teacher
Just celebrated her one year anniversary at Sylvan. She has her Bachelors degree from Framingham State College in Early Childhood education and Sociology. She is as a first grade teacher in Marion.
Heather's Boxer puppy Zoe has been in to visit, and is an angel.
Hobbies include Cooking, shopping and reading.
