We Will Not Hesitate To Return!
"We knew our son, James, wasn't reading as well as we hoped, but by the end of Grade 1, he was not reading anywhere near to grade level. Although we were reassured by the teachers that he would do fine in Grade 2, we decided to get extra help through tutoring. We had heard about Sylvan Leaning Centres form their advertisements, and word-of-mouth, and decided to give them a try.
Right from the beginning, we felt welcome and comfortable. The Director was open and accessible and the Teachers were patient and competent. James spent a long time at Sylvan (almost a full year) and his reading greatly improved unitl he was reading at grade level by the middle of Grade 3.
James thrived under the small teacher-to-student ratio, the structure of each session, and especially the reward system which enabled him to save for, and purchase, interesting items form the 'store'.
As parents, we were regularly updated on James' progress and were able to communicate, and act upon, any new difficulties quickly and efficiently.
Although we are not currently registered in a Sylvan Learning Centre study program, I know that we will not hesitate to return if we encounter any learning challenges in the future.
