Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Elizabeth B.
Program Manager
As Program Manager, Liz is responsible for your child’s Sylvan educational experience. Liz administers initial assessments, handles the overall scheduling, and works hard to create the best program for each child. Liz monitors every aspect of the day to day running of the center to ensure that your child's learning opportunities are maximized.
Originally from Rochester, New York, Liz is a graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester with a BS in Biology and Inclusive Education. She also acquired an MS in Childhood Inclusive Education. Before coming to Sylvan, she was a Special Education teacher in Readington Township. She was also a Special Education teacher at J.P. Case Middle School in Flemington. In her spare time, Liz is a swim coach for the SVY swim team. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, white water rafting, star gazing, singing, and enjoying the company of friends. Liz is excited to aide in each student's success!
Amy D
Teacher
Amy graduated from Rider University with a degree in both Elementary Education and Journalism. She has been with Sylvan since 2007 and enjoys working with students of all ages. She loves teaching Beginning and Academic Reading, as well as Academic Writing. Her favorite part of working at Sylvan is interacting with our wonderful staff and knowing that she is making a positive impact in each child's life.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her friends, writing, playing with her pets, and watching movies and sports (Go Green Bay!).
Jessica W.
Teacher
Jessica has been teaching Reading and Writing at Sylvan since December 2010. She is thoroughly dedicated to giving each student a great learning experience and enjoys showing everyone what the world offers. Jessica's favorite parts of working with Sylvan are how friendly the other staff members are and how eager each of the students are to learn each day. In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her friends and family and taking trips to the various local areas, seeing the beauty New Jersey offers
Brittany Ruggiero
Center Director
As Center Director, Brittany carefully balances all elements of center operations to ensure our students receive the highest quality of instruction and our parents/guardians receive timely communication regarding their student's Sylvan experience. From the initial assessment through the completion of your child's program, Brittany monitors every aspect to ensure that learning opportunities are maximized. Brittany is a graduate of The University of Scranton and has earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. She enjoys working with children and their families, helping them to achieve academic goals and success.
