Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Pat earned her B.A. from the College of St. Elizabeth. She earned her teaching credentials and an M.A. from Georgian Court College and holds both elementary and special education certificates. She started with Sylvan in 1988 by sending her son for classes. She knows first hand that the programs are excellent. Pat and her husband have five children and five grandchildren.
Charles earned his B.A. from Hofstra University and his M.A. from Hebrew Union College. He is responsible for the operation of the center. He taught religious school for over 20 years, is the newsletter editor of the Computer Club of Ocean County and past Commander of the Barnegat Bay Sail & Power Squadron.
Valerie received her B.A. from William Patterson College and is certified elementary as well as special education. As an educator she believes it is her responsibility to motivate children to see that nothing is impossible. Learning is an exciting adventure to be enjoyed and a life long value to be embraced.
B.A. Clemson University. In addition to teaching high level math, Katie teaches all our other subjects.
"Betty" Elizabeth Nessler earned her B.S. from Seton Hall University and her M.A. from Kean College. She has over 30 years teaching experience in addition to the countless hours she has spent at Sylvan. Betty instructs the Academic Reading, Study Skills, Academic Writing and Advanced Reading Skills programs.
Linda earned her B.A. from Glassboro State College, aka Rowan University. She has been teaching at Sylvan for about 5 years. In addition to instructing students in almost every program across our curriculum, she administers many of the initial diagnostic tests to our new students.
Eric has a double B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Richard Stockton College. He works with all math up to Calculus 3.
Tara earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Montclair State University. She teaches through Calculus 3. She is also our SAT math instructor.
Allison has a BA from the College of New Jersey. She teaches math, reading, writing and study skills.
Maria teaches our math program
Melissa teaches reading, math, study skills, and writing. She is glad to return after being a student here during high school.
Janine teaches reading, math, writing and study skills.
