Regional Director of Education, Wakefield tutoring

Pamela E Smith

Regional Director of Education

I grew up in a wonderful small town in upstate New York and spent my summers and time off from school enjoying Misquamicut, Watch Hill, camping at Burlingame or mini-golfing in Stonington with my girl friend. This area has always held a special place in my heart. After graduating high school, I attended Arizona State University where I attained a BS in Exercise Physiology, then moved to Colorado to pursue an M.Ed from Regis University. In 2002 my family and I moved back to Rhode Island and opened the Sylvan Learning in Wakefield, RI and another in Groton, CT in mid 2005. Education is my passion and I have been teaching others for more than 13 years. I truly enjoy providing the tools for students to attain academic and personal success, then watching them achieve their goals and make their dreams come true.

Maureen Gillick

Project:Life Program Director

For more than two decades, Maureen Gillick has been helping people figure out who they are and where they are going. Many of those years were spent in a corporate environment helping executives to become better executives. One day she realized that these corporate executives, “older people” if you will, often had a hard time with change and easily fell back into old habits. More than just a program to help you get into college, PROJECT: LIFE is about inspiration, passion and excitement for your future. It’s about getting into the right college for you, with the right mix of academics and extra-curricular activities that fit not only your goals and abilities, but also your style and preferences. We know that “one-size-fits-all” does not apply when it comes to what individuals want in life, or the solutions to getting there.
