"Thank you Sylvan of Bonita for all your Help with My Son Tyler.

Tyler came into Sylvan with low confidence in reading and not initiating homework on his own. After attending Sylvan for 5 months he has improved almost two grade levels and is up to grade level. He now starts his homework on his own and reads with confidence and for enjoyment. Your Staff was able to help Tyler in areas we were just not understanding the technique he needed for success. In all of his time that he attended he did not complain once about coming (even during the summer) . Your staff made learning a pleasurable experience and he did not feel it was work at all. After every session he always would say “ I had fun”. He even used the quote “ At Sylvan they make learning fun” when he would tell people about Sylvan. I want to thank your Staff for helping build Tyler’s confidence and showing that his hard work paid off. He was so proud of his accomplishment.

I will definitely return if we run into any problem areas again.

Summertime Math enrichment while on vacation!

I want to thank you and your staff for helping my daughter in bridging the gaps and understanding algebra.  It is unfortunate that our stay with Sylvan was only a few weeks but well worth the time during our short visit to San Diego.  I have seen the change in my daughter's attitude about math and the confidence she now displays with that subject.  She recently started school and she came home stating that she already knew the material for her first home work assignment in algebra.  I attribute this to you and your wonderful group of teachers providing her the best education.  Wish you all could be her teachers this year.  I love Diana's confidence at school with algebra.  That is the best result!  We are very grateful for being part of the Sylvan learning experience!!

Sylvan of Bonita Helps 2 Sisters Become Math Geniuses!

"Dear Sylvan Bonita:

The purpose of this is to tell you how pleased we are with the positive influence that everyone at Sylvan has had on our daughters Vivian and Selma this past school year. We could not do it without this program being offered and funded by Supplemental Education Services (SES). If it were not offered thru the SES, we as parents along with the school would be failing our daughters in getting them ahead in their academics.

Up until this year, Vivian and Selma had problems with Math. This year we have noticed a dramatic turnaround, and it is clear to us that it is directly attributable to Sylvan’s teaching methods. Both Vivian and Selma’s average in Math is now in the 90s when in previous years they never received an average over 65% in this subject. They are at the top of their class in Math, and they have never been more confident in this subject.

It is also evident in Vivian and Selma’s general attitude towards all of their subjects, and school in general. For the first time that we can remember, they look forward to going to school and to Math in particular. Their overall average for all subjects has increased this year to above 90%. They are now working independently on their homework without a struggle. We look forward to using your program in the near future since Vivian will be taking Geometry in the 8th grade.

Miguel and I believe that the changes in Vivian and Selma’s attitude and grades have been very dramatic, so we wanted to formally recognize the teachers at Sylvan for the outstanding efforts on our daughters’ behalf. We have sent this letter directly to you since you are the Center Director, and we are sure you will share this with your staff.

Sylvan SES Student Raises Math Grade From D to A-!!

"I want to thank Sylvan Bonita for doing a great job with my son Peter.

He was referred to Sylvan Learning Center of Bonita through an amazing program called SES (Supplemental Educational Service) about 3 months ago, and at that time he was struggling with Math. I am happy to say that has changed significantly. His grade went from a D to and A-.

I know all your hard work and patience have greatly contributed to his increased interest in learning. His confidence in himself has increased tremendously. My son absolutely loved his Sylvan time and all the staff was great, excellent, and helpful. He has gained tremendous self esteem for which I am grateful.

First Day Experience at Sylvan

"Hi Sylvan Bonita,

First off, I think you'd like to know that Dazhone loved his first day at Sylvan. As I was parking last night when I arrived to pick him up, I could see him smiling at the learning table. Once we got in the car he said he felt like he actually learned something; unlike his extended day math program he had recently started three nights a week after school. He said he wasn't learning anything in that program and he liked Sylvan a whole lot better and enjoyed sitting with the other kids at his table. So this news makes me REALLY happy and I so look forward to his academic progress and improved self-confidence and assurance. He's already asking when is his next session! :o)

Huge Improvement in Reading!

"I wanted to write to you to tell you how wonderful Jason is doing at school. I went to the parent-teacher conference on Monday and his teacher's first sentence is "Jason has shown remarkable progress in reading this quarter!" She then told me that Sylvan definitely helped him and it shows. Jason is more confident and loves to read. He has moved up, I think she said, 6 or 9 book levels and he is now in the highest reading class at school. Jason also has moved his grade up in 14 different areas from 2's to 3's. His report card is all 2's and 3's and I couldn't be more proud of him. He's rather pleased with himself too - if you could imagine that! :o)

We were reading a story a couple of weeks ago and he stopped me and said he really likes to picture what's happening in his head. Of course he'd rather play outside, but to read with him is so amazing.

I want to thank you especially for all your encouraging words and thank Jimmy for his help and encouragement as well. I'm not sure who else worked with Jason, but thank them too. A HUGE thank you goes out for all of your patience. You guys are truly a dream come true for a little Georgia guy that loves school and had gotten so down when we moved here and didn't want to go to school anymore. He's excited and can't wait to do more. I'm so proud and I have you to thank for helping."
