Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Tiffany Barroga
Teacher
Tiffany is a native to San Diego and is a 3rd generation teacher. She has been teaching in the Poway Unified School District since 2005. Tiffany graduated from University San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in Diversified Liberal Arts with a concentration in Multicultural Studies. She received her Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University.
John Myer

Along with working at the Carmel Valley Sylvan Learning Center, John also works at our Oceanside and Clairemont centers.
Tina Balsley
Teacher
Tina received her BA in Linguistics from UCSD and her MA in Education from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She taught ELD, English, and Study Skills at Palm Springs High School before moving back to San Diego. Along with being a tutor at Sylvan, she is currently teaching Writing Skills and English Composition courses while also working as a substitute teacher and PE assistant.
