"My daughter has been attending Sylvan for 2 1/2 months now in the Writing Program. My daughter went from being a straight D student in writing to a B- student. What's even more interesting is that her teacher commented on her use of the expository framework, a skill she acquired through the tutoring at Sylvan...Her confidence level in her own abilities has gone through the roof and spilled over into other subjects as well.

Making reading fun . . .

My daughter Brianna started Sylvan this past January 2007. She had a variety of problems with reading, from comprehension to vocabulary. Self-confidence was gone. Reading a chapter book was a form of torture. This April, I looked out my kitchen window to see Brianna sitting on the swings reading Superfudge by Judy Blume. There was no assignment, just a need to read a book on her own and enjoy it!
