"Our entire family has reaped the benefits of our experience at Sylvan Learning Center in Woburn, MA. The directors, Kate and Melissa, have guided us through each step of the process with knowledge and experience. The tutors have provided the individual attention and skill sets necessary for our kids to achieve their goals at school and at home.
Our daughter Erin is bright and dedicated to her school work. However, she never mastered the foundations of mathematics and by Grade 5 she was struggling. Her confidence in her ability was shaken, and each nigh during math homework there were tears and disagreements. She was consistently unable to do her work on her own and her grades were below average. Once Erin began Sylvan in September 2008, the improvement was immediate. Erin's tutors worked patiently and consistently with her each week. She began to master the basics in math and more importantly she was able to do her math homework on her own. We are so proud of Erin. Her selfesteem has soared and she achieved an "A" in Math last term!
Our son Ryan began attending Sylvan in January 2009. Ryan is in 7th Grade and has set his goals on attending private high school. We enrolled Ryan in the Study Skills Program to help Ryan with his organization, long term project planning and writing skills. SYlvan's program was the boost Ryan needed to become more independent and confident when approaching difficult assignments and long term projects. Ryan just completed a Cultural Arts Group Project and received an "A". This was the first time Ryan completed a project of this size on his own by setting goals and working towards them. The guidance and support from the tutors were instrumental in this accomplishment.
