The tutors of North Chelmsford Sylvan Learning Center are all Sylvan trained and certified so that they can best address your child’s academic needs. Our tutors are dedicated to working closely with you and your child in order to help your child reach his or her goals. We start by pinpointing your child’s strengths and areas for improvement through the Sylvan Skills Assessment®. From there, our North Chelmsford staff develops a personalized learning plan for your child and offers unique insights about what methods will work best with your child. Ultimately, our tutors will build a relationship with your child and provide a fun, engaging, and rewarding learning environment. The North Chelmsford Sylvan Learning Center staff consists of highly experienced and established educational professionals who take great pride in their work with students who want to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
Danielle has been with Sylvan since the beginning of 2006. She began as a dedicated instructional assistant while completing her Business Degree with a concentration in Education at Southern NH University. She then completed and recieved her teaching lincese and became an admin assistant and instructor. Now in her current role, she is the Center Director of our well loved teaching team. Danielle has worked with students from 3 months of age to adults and always works to find the best tutoring solutions for all students and families and looking for the right program to meet the goals of the families. She loves every second of the work she does here.
Ashley began her time here in 2009, and has quickly moved up within our center. She is now our wonderful Assistant Center Director and makes sure that the center runs smoothly. She enjoys working closely with the kids and is working towards her Masters in Counseling with a concentration in Guidance Counseling. She is very
driven and lights up the center when she comes in and knows just how to make the students feel welcome.
Alex has been with Sylvan since 2011 and is a key member of the Sylvan team. She earned her undergrad degree at Merrimack College in Mathematics and is currently working on her masters at Merrimack under their Fellowship program. When she is not at Sylvan she enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, scrapbooking, visiting the beach, and traveling. She loves working with people and hopes to make a difference in her students’ lives. The programs that Alex works with are Advanced Math, Elementary Math, and Writing.
Sheila joined the Sylvan team in the beginning of 2010. Sheila brings with her the best knowledge of chemistry, biology, calc, and other topics in advanced math and science. Shiela loved to work with students of all ages and can find the best way to engage students on these topics!
Michelle joined the Sylvan team in 2011 and loves to work with the children here. She gained a degree in Early Childhood Education from Framingham State University and loves her job as a 3rd grade teacher. She loves to read in her spare time. As a tutor here at Sylvan, Michelle works with students in the Beginning and Academic Reading programs.
After receiving her degree in education from Plymouth State University and graduating with her Teacher Certification, Colleen joined us at Sylvan in 2011. While she is not teaching, Colleen loves to spend time with her family and friends, as well as dancing. She has been dancing for eighteen years! Colleen tutors Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, and Elementary Math.
Kirsten, currently a teacher in the Dracut school system, has been with Sylvan for over two years! She has attended both the University of California at Santa Barbara and Rivier College and holds degrees in sociology and elementary education. Kirsten also teaches the verbal portion of our SAT Prep class. When not working at Sylvan, Kirsten enjoys being a newlywed and hanging out with her Chihuahua… Manny!
Robert, a resident on North Chelmsford, holds a B.A. degree in Mathematics from Western New England College. He is an experienced tutor who's excitement for math really shows! Robert is excellent with algebra 1 & 2, geometry, calculus 1, 2, and 3 a long with MCAS prep. The students are really able to relate to Robert’s teaching. When not at Sylvan, Robert is involved with the handbell and vocal choirs at his local church.
Sheryl has been working for Sylvan since 2007. She received a Bachelor's degree summa cum laude in Mathematics from Boston College and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has several years of experience as a Software Engineer working on computer graphical applications and user interfaces. In her free time, Sheryl enjoys drawing, music, and the company of her family and friends. We are proud to have Sheryl on our Mathematics team!
Joan joined the team here at Sylvan in 2010 and ever since has loved working with our students. She became an elementary school teacher after being a nurse for eighteen years, returning to school for her Masters in Education. In her free time Joan loves to quilt, read, and fish. She is always saying that teaching is her passion. Joan’s tutoring subjects include SAT Prep, Academic Reading, Writing, and Elementary Math.
A member of the Chelmsford Sylvan team since 2009 Karen is a vital part of our Beginning Reading program. She has a Masters in Education and Special Education Certification from Lesley University as well as certification in the Wilson Reading Program. In her spare time she loves to read (of course), quilt, and spend time with her family. She has said she “loves working at Sylvan because the students are divers and are willing to try their best to learn.” As a tutor here she works with Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Elementary Math, Study Skills, and SAT Prep.
Andrew has been with Sylvan since the beginning of 2009. He has a passion for teaching students the benefits of reading and helping them better comprehend language arts topics. He works with students from 5 to 17 and can either teach them to read, or prepare for the SAT!
Michael has been a part of the Sylvan Family since the summer of 2011. He enjoys organizing break time activities for students of all ages and making Sylvan a warm and hospitable atmosphere. When he is not helping keep our center spotless he enjoys being the Sylvan Giant and working on his studies!
Jasmine has been working at our Sylvan location since 2009. She is currently working on her neuroscience degree at Boston University. Jasmine does a great job creating awesome themes for our Sylvan students and keeping up with our student of the week board! Jasmine is a very valuble part of our team and always has great ideas on how to keep students involved and engaged while learning. She has a bubbly personality and is the best person to see first thing Saturday morning!
