As an Instructor at Sylvan, you’re primary responsibilities are:
Just Teaching. No Lesson Plans. No Preparation.
As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Reading (K-12), Writing, Math, Study Skills, and State exams to students of all levels.
Day hours when students are out of school
Evening and weekend hours available when students are in school.

As a successful Instructor, you will:
Deliver Quality Education:
•Teach using Sylvan based programs
•Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials
•Reward students for completed assignments
•Evaluate and document student progress
•Communicate student needs to the center manager
Inspire Students:
•Develop rapport with students and establishes a fun learning environment
•Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
We require:
•Bachelor’s degree in Education
•Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience
•State level teaching credential or certification (current or expired)

Job Description:
The Educational Administrative/ Teacher’s Assistant will report to the Center Director/Director of Education and is responsible for:
Obtain and file teaching materials for instruction in our center
Ensure smooth instruction period transitions
Monitor the in-house supply store
Maintain center order and cleanliness
Assisting with student assessments
Scheduling students
Answering phones
Fielding questions and concerns from parents in person
Scheduling and confirming appointments
Bookkeeping
Qualifications:
A background in education and customer service is preferred
High School Diploma
Some computer and typing skills a must
Proficiency in MS Office
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational skills
