The Brookline Sylvan Learning Center helps students learn how to become self-motivated, independent, and most importantly approach school, as well as life, with confidence. Our tutoring programs are available both when school is in session, as well as during the summer with additional instructional hours. We are constantly looking for new ways for Brookline Sylvan to better help students achieve success. Winter Break Schedule
School breaks are great times to catch up and get ahead on homework, projects and basic skills. Sylvan has extended hours, fun theme days, and lunch time activities to make winter break productive, and fun! See the attached schedule, and contact us for more information.

Countdown to College
The pressure is on. To compete in today’s global economy, teenagers must obtain collegiate degrees now more than ever. Our growing global economy has made it necessary for more students to attend college in order to obtain good paying jobs. New tools, such as the common application, encourage students to apply to more schools – which increases the competition.
With students reaching for their “dream” schools, many realize increasing their scores on their college entrance exams is only part of the planning process. More students and parents today are learning the secret that top colleges have known for years - systematically preparing for university-level classes gives students more confidence and more confidence can lead to higher SAT/ACT scores, early admission to the college of your choice and a smoother transition into higher education.

Sylvan Provides Summer Survival Kits to Local Teachers
The Sylvan Brookline Directors delivered over 50 Summer Survival Kits to local teachers. Sylvan would like to thank all the school teachers that help us tailor programs to meet the specific academic needs of our shared students. Have a great summer!
Driscoll School Spring Fair
Sylvan Directors, Nicole and Erica, helped students bend their minds at the Driscoll School Spring Fair on Wednesday, May 20. Students were challenged by tangrams and other mental puzzles provided by Eureka Puzzles. Sylvan gave out prizes and was a food sponsor for the event.
Sylvan Spellers Participate in Brookline Spelling Bee
Nicole, Erica and Jess participated in the Brookline Spelling Bee on March 8 at Brookline High School. The event was a fund-raiser for the Brookline Education Foundation. While the Sylvan Spellers didn't win, they made a valiant effort and had a great time!
