Executive Director, Concord tutoring

Laura Fahey, B.S.

Executive Director

Laura has been working for Sylvan since 2006. She received her B.S. degree in Fashion Merchandising/Marketing from Rivier College. Laura and her husband have been married for thirteen years and they have a 4 year old son. Before coming to Sylvan, she worked as a manager for the GAP for 15 years. Some of Laura's favorite things include traveling, getting together with family and friends and cheering on the Red Sox. At Sylvan, she is really enjoying learning about the programs we offer and how we can make a difference in a child's life.

Danielle DeFrancesco, B.S.

Center Director

Danielle has been with Sylvan since 2006. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics Education with a minor in History from Plymouth State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was part of the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. She was also the recipient of the 2000 Mildred McAfee Horton Outstanding Female Educator of the Year Award. Danielle is a proud mother of two young children who keep her very busy! When she is not at Sylvan or with her family, she enjoys reading, cooking and baking, and shopping. She also enjoys researching various methods to help children learn.

Yevgeniya Kashian

Instruction Coordinator

Yevgeniya attended Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages where she earned an MA in Translation. She also graduated from military training as a speciality military translator.
When Yevgeniya is not at Sylvan she likes to read, ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle, cook Russian food, and watch European movies.

Sara Carlson, B.A.

Instructor and Test Administrator

Sara received her B.A. in Religion and Philosophy. She also has completed graduate courses at the University of Iowa. Sara loves to travel, and spent 3 months in Asia in 2004. She recently moved to NH from IL, and likes to go on "Family Adventures" with her husband and her dog, Duke. When not at Sylvan, she also likes to read or visit with family.

Shay Daly, B.A., M.Ed.

Instructor

Shay teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading and Study Skills. She attended the University of New Hampshire in Durham, where she received her B.A. degree in Political Science. She also received her Masters degree in Special Education from Plymouth State University. She currently teaches in the Concord School District. She enjoys reading, listening to music and connecting with friends and family in her spare time. She is also a big New England sports fan!

Brian Doyle, B.A.

Instructor

Brian teaches Math, Academic Reading, Homework Support and SAT Prep. He attended Saint Joseph's College of Maine, where he received his B.A. degree in Physical Education. He currently teaches at the Spaulding Youth Center. From 2005-2006 and from 2007-2008, he earned the "Specials" Teacher of the Year award. In his spare time, Brian enjoys playing golf, doing yardwork and brushing up on his Madden skills.

Connie George, B.S., A.S., M.Ed.

Instructor

Connie teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Academic Writing and Study Skills. She received her B.S. degree from Plymouth State University, her A.S. degree from New Hampshire Technical Institute, and her Masters in Education from the University of New Hampshire. She has worked at Sylvan for almost five years, and also teaches at the New Hampshire Technical Institute. She has two children and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering, and traveling when she is not teaching.

Beth Gray, B.A.

Instructor

Beth teaches Beginning and Academic Reading, as well as Study Skills and Homework Support at Sylvan. She has a B.A. is Elementary Education from Notre Dame College in Manchester. When not at Sylvan, she likes to walk, read, and listen to Red Sox games. Beth also spent two years teaching English in Guatemala.

Jeremy Hall, B.A.; M.Ed.

Instructor

Jeremy has a B.A in History from Villanova University and a M.Ed in Secondary Social Studies from Southern NH University. He also is a member of Phi Sigma Tau-the Honors Philosophy Society- and has been published in various creative writing journals. Jeremy has traveled to Africa and the Middle East. When not at Sylvan, he loves music, movies, cooking, reading, and creative writing, especially poetry and fiction.

Laura LeBoeuf

Instructor

Laura earned a degree in Communications and British Literature from Bethany College, WV. She was once on-air personality on local radio stations. She has over nine years experience teaching high school English. Currently, she works for a non-profit human services agency. In her copious free time, Laura enjoys silly You-Tube videos, trivia competitions, and spicing up conversations with quotes from Stephen King novels and Star Wars films (the original ones). She has been teaching at Sylvan for over two years. Laura teaches SAT/ACT, all test prep programs, math, reading, and writing.

Jennifer Leclerc, B.A.

Instructor

Jen attended Roger Williams University and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in both elementary education and theatre. She started tutoring at Sylvan in July 2011. She enjoys helping the students raise their confidence levels! In her spare time, Jen enjoys seeing plays and hanging out with friends and family. She hopes to live in New York City one day so that she can see as many shows on Broadway as possible!

Mary Beth Mahar, B.S.

Instructor

Mary Beth teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, and Study Skills. She attended State University of New York at Geneseo, where she received her B.S. degree in Education. She has lived and taught in New York, Colorado and New Hampshire. She enjoys skiing and hiking with her husband, doing crafts, and visiting their children in Florida.

Tynamaria Schwaegerl, B.A., M.Ed.

Instructor / Test Administrator

Tynamaria teaches Academic Reading, Beginning Reading and Mathematics Essentails. She has a B.A. in Clinical Psychology from Keene State College and a M.Ed. in Elementary Special Education from New England College. When she isn't teaching, Tynamaria enjoys reading, watching movies and going for long walks. She is also a big Star Trek fan!!

Meredith Watts, B.A., M.Ed.

Instructor

Meredith teaches Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Math Essentials, Study Skills, and SAT Prep. She received her B.A. degree from Wheaton College, and her Masters in Education from Boston University. She also received her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study at the Middlesex Education Center. Before moving to N.H., she taught in the Rhode Island and Massachusetts public school systems. When not at work, she enjoys baby sitting and reading to her new grandchild, following the Red Sox and NASCAR racing, and boating with her family.
