Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Sarah Leonard
Center Director
Sarah is a graduate of Franklin Pierce College, NH with a B.A. in American Studies concentrating in English. Sarah is currently pursuing her Masters at Central Connecticut State University in Reading Consultation. Sarah holds a K-8 cerification in NH, K-6 in CT, and K-6 in SC.
Suzanne Gautier
NCLB Director
Suzanne is pursuing a degree in History at St. Joseph College. She is a hometown graduate of Northwest Catholic High Schools. Currently at Sylvan Suzanne teaches Study Skills, Homework Help, and Spanish.
Audra Deeley
Director
Audra hold a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature and Creative Non-Fiction Writing from Keene State College in NH. She recently was employed by the Naugatuck School District. She joined the Sylvan team in May of 2009.
Emily Dillon
Ace It! Program Manager
Emily is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. She is currently pursuing her masters in the field of education at the University of Bridgeport. Emily is the director of our Ace It! program. This portable program allows Sylvan to go directly into the schools!
Catherine Sadlak
Instructor
Catherine is a graduate of Boston College with a B.S. in Business. Catherine recieved her masters in Education from the University of Connecticut. She is certified K-8 in CT. She also holds a middle and high school math certification. She currently teaches high school math
Catherine teaches all levels of Math, Study Skills, Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Study Skills, SAT Prep, and Homework Support.
Gina Romanos
Instructor
Gina graduated from New England College and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Gina has a Master's Degree from the School for International Training in Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management. At Sylvan Gina teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Math and Homework Support.
Jordan Farrelly
Instructor
Jordan is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. She holds a degree in math. She is pursuing a Masters in Education at Saint Joseph's College in West Hartford, CT.
Jordan teaches all levels of Math, Study Skills and Homework Support.
Mary Ellen Gan
Instructor
Mary Ellen graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Family Studies. She graduated from the University of Bridgeport with her Masters in Elementary Education. She is certified in CT and currently works in Newington as a learning tutor. At Sylvan Mary Ellen teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Math and Homework Support.
Vu Troung
Instructor
Vu is currently pursuing his degree in Molecular Cell Biology with a minor in Mathematics, Physiology, and Neurobiology at the University of Connecticut. Vu is a hometown graduate of Hall High School.
Vu teaches SAT Prep, all levels of Math, Biology, Study Skills and Homework Support.
Jason Cooley
Instructor
Jason is a graduate from the University of Hartford. He currently teaches political science and history classes at the University. At Sylvan
Jason teaches Academic Reading, Study Skills, Homework Support and History.
Sara Schroeder
Instructor
Sara graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics. She is certified in CT. She is currently completing her Masters in Special Education. She is currently teaching as a Special Education tutor. At Sylvan Sara teaches Math and Academic Reading.
Nick Considine
Instructor
Nick graduated State University of New York with a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Economics. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Science in Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Nick joins our team from the Sylvan Learning Center in Rochester, NY. Nick teaches all levels of Math, homework support and SAT prep.
Elizabeth Hallinan
Tutor
Elizabeth holds her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts. She holds a Connecticut certification in grades K-6. She tutors all Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Writing, and Math Essential students at Sylvan.
Jamie Harris
Tutor
Jamie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in the Development of Western Civilization from Providence College in RI. He also holds a Master of Education from Providence College in Special Education. Jamie is K-12 CT certified in Special Education. He is currently a teacher in Waterbury, CT. At Sylvan Learning Center, Jamie teaches Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, College 101 and SAT Verbal.
Kimberlee Matthews
Tutor
Kimberlee holds her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education/ American Studies from Western Connecticut State University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Education from St. Joseph's College. Kimberlee is currently a teacher in Hartford, CT. At Sylvan, Kimberlee tutors all Reading, Writing and Elementary Math students.
Sarah Stolfi
Tutor
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Connecticut. Sarah also holds a Master of Science in Special Education from Central Connecticut State University. She is CT certified in 7-12 Social Studies. She is currently a teacher in Meriden, CT. At Sylvan, Sarah tutors students in Reading, Writing, Math and Study Skills.
Matt Noreika
Instructor
Matt is a graduate of Boston College and holds a degree in Mathematics. He is also a hometown graduate of Northwest Catholic High Schools. Currently Matt tutors all levels of Math and SAT Prep.
