Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best

Josh Parsons
Director
B.S. in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston, Charleston, SC. Josh taught school as a certified teacher for 5 years before moving back to Connecticut. Along with his duties as Center Director, Mr. Parsons may instruct in Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Math Essentials, and Study Skills. He has been the Center Director for 7 years at the Groton Sylvan Learning Center.
Rebecca Mason
Director of Education
B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Cedarville University, Cedarville, OH. Mrs. Mason is a Rhode Island Certified Teacher and instructs in Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Academic Writing and Math Essentials, for Sylvan Learning Center.
Lisa D'Ambrosio
Instructor
B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education from East Stroudsburg University, East Stroudsburg, PA. Ms. D’Ambrosio is a certified teacher and is instructing in Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, and Academic Writing for Sylvan Learning Center.
Jennifer Clark
Instructor
B.A. from Assumption College. Ms. Clark is a certified teacher and instructs in Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Study Skills, and Math Essentials for Sylvan Learning Center.
Aimee Clark
Instructor
B.S. from Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT, and an M.E. from Sacred Heart University, Lisbon, CT. Ms. Clark is a certified teacher and instructs in Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Academic Writing, and Math Essentials for Sylvan Learning Center.
Holly Frederick
Instructional Assistant/Diagnostician
B.A. in Elementary Education and Psychology from Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA. Mrs. Frederick has been associated with this Sylvan Learning Center for more than 16 years, and continues working on staff as an Education/Administrative Assistant.
