My Experience at Sylvan"Before I started coming to Sylvan, I had some trouble writing essays. I learned that I needed to take the time to organize my thoughts prior to composing my essay. Every sentence used to start with they or the. Now, I have learned to incorporate words that will help my essay flow. I know that Sylvan Learning Center has helped a lot. It is much easier to write now. I feel as thought I can easily write what I am thinking. The very helpful staff at Sylvan Learning Center helped us with any questions that I had. When I was stuck they helped me get out of a hole. When I was feeling down or discouraged, they encouraged me and gave me the confident to accomplish any task. I still have a lot to learn. A Great Center"This is such a great center. Peter Bartoli, the owner, is very approachable and truly knows his stuff. His teachers/tutors are extremely nice, personable and very caring. My son started at this center in January 2008 because he was having great difficulty with reading at the first grade level. All his other subjects were off the charts. However, since he was not doing well in reading, the school wanted to hold him back. We did not feel that was the answer, so we enrolled him into Sylvan. - Ursula D. |
Knowledgeable and Caring"We had a great experience at this center. Peter and his caring staff give great attention to every detail to insure that your child receives the highest quality educational plan possible. Our child has attended for the past year. When she enrolled, she was struggling with reading and was facing retention in 1st grade. She was reading on a kindergarten level. We just finished up last week with Sylvan and she left their program reading at the end of a third grade level and she is in the 2nd grade. She enjoyed the program and it is nearly impossible to place words on exactly how happy we are with this Sylvan Learning Center in Southbury.
