Melanie Eaton

Center Director

Melanie functions as the Director of Education, overseeing parent conferences, school contacts, staff meetings, and student academic programs.
Melanie holds a B.A. from Western New England College in English with a minor in Social Work. She also earned her M.S. in Secondary Education, specializing in Language Arts. Melanie is originally from Meriden and currently lives in Middletown with her husband.

Rosemary Lauria

Teacher

Rosemary began working for Sylvan in 1997. She is a full-time fourth grade teacher at Saint Brendan's School in New Haven. Rosemary teaches Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Math Essentials, and Study Skills at Sylvan.

Robert Tencza

Teacher

Bob taught math for over thirty years at North Haven High School. At Sylvan, Bob teaches the Math Essentials program along with Algebra I & II, Geometry, and SAT prep. Bob began working at Sylvan in February 2003.

Manda Neumann

Teacher

Manda teaches Middle School English at Notre Dame School in New Britain. She has worked at Sylvan since February of 2005 and is one of few teachers who teaches and trains in all five Sylvan programs.

Dale Ortoli

Teacher

Dale taught for 31 years in the Waterbury public school system and is now retired. In addition to working at Sylvan, she is also a University Supervisor for the University of Bridgeport and Central Connecticut State University. Dale teaches Academic Reading, Math Essentials, Academic Writing, and Study Skills at Sylvan. Dale joined the staff in September 2005.

Eileen Bonaiuto

Teacher

Eileen joined the Sylvan staff in September of 2005. She teaches Academic Reading, Math Essentials, Academic Writing, Study Skills, and Beginning Reading at Sylvan. Eileen is also substitutes in the towns of Meriden and Wallingford.

Krystal Hill

Teacher

Krystal being teaching at Sylvan in August 2006. She teaches Academic Reading, Math Essentials, Beginning Reading, and Academic Writing. Krystal is also a third grade teacher at Nathan Hale Elementary School in Meriden.

Kristin Stec

Teacher

Kristin is a Kindergarten teacher at Robert A. Wakelee Elementary School in Wolcott. At Sylvan, she teaches all five subjects and is our resident Beginning Reading expert.
