Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Joyce A. Carusi
Executive Director
The Verona Sylvan has a long established record of service in the community. Joyce is the Executive Director of the Sylvan Learning Centers in Verona, Cranford, and Wayne. She and her husband, Charles Harrington, have managed the Verona Sylvan for 15 years. Joyce and Charles are educators by background and have extensive experience in teaching and educational publishing.
Sarah L. Meierhofer
Center Director
Sarah is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified teacher and has experience in elementary and early childhood education. Sarah has been part of the Sylvan community since 1999, as teacher, Director of Education, and Center Director.
Danielle E. Iorlano
Director of Education
Danielle is a graduate of William Paterson University. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology as well as teaching certification in Elementary Education. She is responsible for managing the educational programs of all students enrolled at Sylvan. Danielle has been part of the Sylvan community since 2003.
