Feedback of Sylvan - Denville
"My son Justin is a 6th grade student at Randolph Middle School. Justin struggled from the beginning of middle school in all subjects but especially in Reading and Language Arts. We enrolled Justin in the Sylvan Denville location about 2 months ago putting him in the 36 hour program. We explained to him that this was not punishment but a tool to help him. His first impression of tutoring was "like being in school". He quickly realized that it was not like school, the teachers were really nice and that coming to Sylvan was not punishment but a great way to work on his homework and learn ways to study and improve his grades. It also helped when he saw a classmate and older kids. He was not alone in his struggles and that tutoring was not just for younger children.
We noticed quickly his test scores going up. He was getting mostly D and F grades to getting high C and B grades. We were thrilled. In the fourth marking period his grades were mostly A's (getting 95 - 98). Words cannot explain how happy we all are. I can't help but notice how confident he has become. He has changed so much and approaches tests, homework, studying and school differently. He was so proud of his grades. He loved showing us and the Sylvan teachers his test scores. A few months ago I had to ask him or check online.
My husband and I came into this program frustrated, concerned and eager to help our son. The staff at Denville put our concerns to rest and we put all our trust in them to help Justin. Every conversation, question and even just dropping him off or picking him up was a pleasure. There is a great dynamic in the center and the entire experience was wonderful. We will highly recommend Sylvan to family and friends and would not hesitate to enroll Justin again or his younger brother (if needed).
I have attached a copy of his report card. The proof that Sylvan does work is in his report card! He went from "unprepared for class", "missing assignments" and "poor study habits" to "good work/study habits" and "well prepared for class". Thank you so much for all that you have done and we will continue to encourage Justin at home."
