Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best

Niyati Gupta
Executive Director
Niyati holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from University of Maryland as well as a Masters Degree in Network Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Niyati has over 15 years of management experience. She oversees the daily operation of the center. When she is not working, she spends her time chauffeuring her two children around!
Reena A Joglekar
Director of Education
Reena is a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s College, NJ. She holds a degree in Economics as well as teaching certification in Elementary Education. In 2008, Reena completed her Masters Degree in Special Education from College of St. Elizabeth. Her interests include reading and working with children.
Ms. Angela
Instructor/BR Specialist
Ms. Angela has worked at Cedar Knolls Sylvan center since Feb. 2005. With more than 30 yrs of teaching experience, she teaches not only the students but all of us. She is a graduate of Caldwell College in Caldwell, NJ. You may recognize her from Madison Y or the courthouse in Morristown.
Ms. Aubrey
Program Mgr/Instructor-AR, AW & SSS
Ms. Aubrey has been with us close to three years. She has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Montclair State University, NJ.
Ms. Josephine
ARS & College Prep Writing Specialist
Ms. Josephine joined our group in 2008 and has become an integral part of our team. Our High School students love her teaching style. She is NJ state certified teacher and currently works as a phonics consultant for several local schools.
Ms. Kari
Program Manager/Instructor
Ms. Kari is a graduate of South Eastern University and is NJ & FL state certified teacher. She has been with us for two years now. She loves to work with kindergarten through high school students. She is also responsible for managing all student programs.
Ms. Melissa
Instructor/SSS Specialist
Ms. Melissa has been with us close to three years. She has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and currently teaches Kindergarten at the local Goddard School.
Ms. Ushma
Instructor
Ms. Ushma is a graduate of Baroda University of India, where she earned both bachelor (major Physics, minor – Chemistry and Math) and masters (Applied Physics) degrees. She is NJ certified teacher for Physics and Math. Ms. Ushma has been with us since January 2008.
