Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Stefanie Hickman
Center Director
As Center Director, Stefanie carefully balances all elements of center operations to ensure our students receive the highest quality instruction and our parents/guardians receieve timely communication regarding their child's Sylvan experience. From the initial assessment through the completion of your child's program, Stefanie monitors every aspect to ensure learning opportunities are maximized.
Stefanie graduated cum laude from Centenary College with degrees in English and Education and recently received her Master's degree in Elementary Reading and Math through Walden University.
In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors geocaching and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
Lauren P.
Director of Education/ Teacher
Lauren is a May 2010 graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport PA with a degree in Elementary Education and English. She loves to read, write, play soccer, and go to the beach and the city. In her free time, she also has a love for interior decorating and classic literature.
Lauren is responsible for both teaching and working with students when they first test with us here at Sylvan. She monitors each student's progress in each of their programs to ensure their success.
Cory A.
Teacher
Cory is responsible for teaching and for monitoring each of the programs in which our students are enrolled.
Cory is a proud graduate of Lafayette College. He is our "jack of all trades" and can teach almost every subject that Sylvan offers with style and knowledge. During the spring and summer, you can find him running in 5K marathons.
Juliana H.
Teacher
Juliana is a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a degree in Elementary Education. She has been teaching most recently as a Kindergarten teacher and Elementary school teacher. Juliana loves shopping, reading and going to the beach in her free time.
Sara R.
Teacher
Sara has been a teacher at Sylvan since December 2010. She is a wonderful teacher that works with our Beginning Reading students through Math Essentials, but her favorite subject would have to be Science. Her favorite part of working at Sylvan is the one on one time that she gets to spend with each of her students each hour she is here.
When Sara isn't at Sylvan she spends time running, hiking and working with her therapy dog.
Maria P.
Teacher
Maria is the newest teacher on our Sylvan team. She loves working closely with all of our students and getting to know each one of their needs. When Maria is not at Sylvan, she enjoys reading, hiking and biking.
Yasemin
Teacher's Assistant
Yasemin has been a teacher's assistant at the Clinton Sylvan since September 2010. She is responsible for gathering the materials for all the teachers as well as to greet children each night when they arrive for instruction. Yasemin loves the friendly teaching environment that we have at our center. When she's not here or at school, she enjoys spending time with her friends, swimming, playing the piano and watching movies.
