Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Mary Campbell
Center Director
As a Sylvan Center Director, Mary carefully balances all elements of center operations to ensure that our students receive the highest quality instruction and our parents and guardians receive timely communication regarding their students’ Sylvan experience.
Mary is a certified teacher with eleven years of classroom experience.
Amra Deljanin
Director of Education
As a Sylvan Director of Education, Amra is responsible for your child’s total Sylvan educational experience. From initial testing and assessment through completion of your child’s program, Amra monitors every aspect of our total learning experience to insure that each and every student’s learning opportunities are maximized.
Amra Deljanin is a certified teacher. She received her Bachelors of Educational Science Degree, with a Specializing in Math at St. John's University. She started as a teacher at Sylvan and has been with the company for 3 and a half years.
Heather Wynne
Teacher
Heather is currently in her 5th year teaching 3rd grade. She graduated from Boston College with a degree in Early Childhood Education and received her Masters Degree from Fordam University in Literacy. Sylvan has been lucky to have Heather as an instructor for almost a year. She specilizes in teaching Sylvan's Academic Reading, Beginning Reading, and Math Essetials Programs.
Jonathan Tyrrell
Teacher
Jonathan is a highly certified teacher. He has a BA in Political Science from Drew University, MS in History of Internatioanl Relations from the London School of Economics, MA in Applied Political Ethics from Drew Theological Seminar, and a MED in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M. He has taught High School in Texas and currently is a writer for standardized test. Jonathan has been with Sylvan for a year and is one of our top Academic Writing instructors. He also teaches Sylvan's Academic Reading and Math programs along with Homework Support and GED Test Prep.
Lisa Tornheim
Teacher
Lisa is a wonderful teacher at Sylvan. She is currently teaching 4th grade and has previous experience teaching 2nd and 5th grade as well. She received her teaching credentials from St. Mary's College with a specilization in Theater. She also received her Masters in Research in Response to Intervention. Lisa has been with Sylvan over a year and is our number 1 camp instructor. She ensures our students enjoy each and every day when they attend a camp her at Sylvan. If your child enrolls be on the look out for silly dress up days!
Philip Wayne
Teacher
Philip is one of our most energetic teachers here at Sylvan. He has his Bachelors Degree from the University of Delaware in Political Science and Journalism. While in Delaware he was an intern for Vice President Biden. He also received his Masters of Education from Loyola College in Baltimore. He has taught High School Social Studies in New York and Maryland. Presently he is a College Tennis Coach at Hofstra University. Here at Sylvan he loves teaching Homework Support, Academic Reading, Academic Writing and Test Prep Programs. He has been a loyal teacher at Sylvan for over a year.
