Success Stories

Trig Test

"You should have had the Sylvan TV commercial crew filming when I got the news of Jacob's score from Tuesday's Trig test--I was ecstatically happy! By the way, I think David told you that when Jacob phoned in the news, he asked David to call you guys right away. Thanks, and keep it working for the final exam on June 6th!"

Jacinda says...

"Jacinda’s math grades have gone from C’s to B’s in just a few short months. Jacinda’s teacher now asks her to write “examples” on the board, to help other student.

Before she started coming to Sylvan, Jacinda never really liked math. Jacinda says, “Now that I am able to do it, I don’t mind it as much!” Jacinda has confidence in her math abilities now.

When asked what she would say to other students who are struggling in math, she said, “Get the help from Sylvan! If you pay attention and try your bet it will all work out in the end.”"

Three cheers for Sebastian!

"My son, Sebastian, has always been an outgoing child, but when it came to reading he was very withdrawn. He would never make an effort to open a book. It frustrated him a lot when he would see other kids able to read and get there work done. He would be teased by others about it and would lash out at school. In April of this year, after speaking to his teacher yet again about something new to try to get him interested in reading and learning. They told me that Sebastian would not be moving to the fourth grade. His father and I decided to try Sylvan. Within a month his teachers and I saw a drastic improvement. Sebastian not only made the attempt, but had improved to the point that his teachers believe he would be able to handle moving up to the fourth grade. He is now motivated about reading. He will pick up a book without being forced to instead of a toy. He loves going to Sylvan. This parent was a God sent for my son. I would recommend it to any parent who wants their childe to learn and do the best they can. Sylvan has done wonders for my son and I can’t thank them enough."

First Week of School

"Cooper had a fabulous first week of school. He commented to me that he felt very confident going into his 8th grade math class at the beginning of the school year. He knew the work and knew how to do the problems. On the first day, he said he was even asked to work out a problem on the blackboard and he was thrilled that he had the confidence and the knowledge to work out the problem. And that came about by just attending two sessions at Sylvan. He now does his math homework first and finishes it completely. Unlike last year where he would put it off and only do part of it. So thank you already for making such a difference in Cooper's math skills and his confidence."
