Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Matthew Capogreco
Center Director
Matthew is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia with a B.A. in Education. He is involved with all aspects of Sylvan including parent conferences, teaching students, and community involvement. Many of the students know Matthew's love of music, mountain biking, and hockey. He is happiest when he sees a student develop confidence that transcends age and academic gaps. Being Center Director reminds him of the pride felt when you can be part of a team that truly makes a difference in someone's life.
Amy Fowler
Director of Education
Amy has her BA in Mathematics and Education from SUNY Potsdam and received her MSeD in Special Education from LeMoyne College. She is certified K-12 with a concentration in Math and has been teaching since 2001. Amy has been part of Sylvan since 2004 and loves to see when students are proud of their report cards. Amy has many roles at Sylvan including teaching, overseeing student progress, and regularly meeting with parents and schools to ensure student growth.
Andrea Gregory
Admissions Counselor
Andrea completed her Bachelors of Science at SUNY Oneonta and has a strong background in both customer service and tutoring. As Admissions Counselor, Andrea works with families new to Sylvan’s services and builds awareness of the programs offered at the local Sylvan Learning Centers.
