Meet the Tutors
The tutors of Greece Sylvan Learning Center are all Sylvan trained and certified so that they can best address your child’s academic needs. Our tutors are dedicated to working closely with you and your child in order to help your child reach his or her goals. We start by pinpointing your child’s strengths and areas for improvement through the Sylvan Skills Assessment®. From there, our Greece Center staff develops a personalized learning plan for your child and offers unique insights about what methods will work best with your child. Ultimately, our tutors will build a relationship with your child and provide a fun, engaging, and rewarding learning environment. The Greece Sylvan Learning Center staff consists of highly experienced and established educational professionals who take great pride in their work with students who want to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.

Joy Potter
Director of Education
Joyce Potter has been a valuable member of the Sylvan Learning Center staff in Greece, New York since 2006. She began working for Sylvan as a Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, and Study Skills instructor. In 2007 she became one of Sylvan's Directors of Education. As a director, Joy is responsible for administering assessments,conferencing with parents, attending school meetings, addressing inquiries, program development and overall office management. She enjoys her work and most of all; loves building positive relationships with the students and their families. In 1997, Joyce graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She furthered her education with a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education Curriculum from SUNY Brockport. Prior to beginning her career with Sylvan, Joyce taught first, second, and third grade in Rochester, New York. Joy resides in Greece with her husband, and four children.
