Teaching to excel, not to just 'get by'
"In my opinion, there is no greater heartache than a parent watching their child struggle in school. Whether it is agonizing over homework, low test scores, or a combination of both, the stress is equally damaging to the child and parent alike.
I know my wife and I have been there. We exhausted every effort at our disposal, from late night hours assisting with homework assignments, utilizing school resources, to the use of professional tutors. Nothing seemed to make a difference. We tried rewards for good work; we tried punishment for poor work. Again, all efforts were to no avail.
Then we tried Sylvan…
Within the six month period since beginning attending Sylvan classes, our child has gone from barely maintaining passing marks, to carrying all A’s and B’s in every subject area. The rise in the level of confidence, and self-esteem has also been truly amazing.
