Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals

- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best

Melissa M McGruther
Center Director
Melissa graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 2000 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She resides in Halifax with her husband Dominic and their sons Logan & Kaiden . Melissa has been working at Sylvan since April of 2001. Melissa's hobbies include reading, traveling, car & truck shows and watching her favorite football team the Philadelphia Eagles.
John Wagner
Lead Teacher
John has been with Sylvan since August 2006, and has 33 years of teaching and administration experience with the Susquehanna Township School District. John resides in Harrisburg with his wife Carol. John has been a volunteer with the Pennsylvania National Fire Museum for over 14 years. John was nominiated and selected as Sylvan's Teacher of the Year in 2008.

Melissa Rodgers
Director of Education
Melissa graduated from Elizabethtown College with a B.S. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She resides in Harrisburg with her cat, Lily. Melissa has been working at Sylvan since January 2010. Her hobbies include mission work in Guatemala, working with her church's youth group, and spending time with friends. Melissa loves watching her favorite baseball team the Philadelphia Phillies!
