Higher Level Math/Science Instructor (Part-Time)
As an Instructor at Sylvan, you’re primary responsibilities are:
Just Teaching. No Lesson Plans. No Preparation.
As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 setting.
You will provide personalized instruction in Basic K-Pre Algebra Math, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus and State exams to students of all levels.
Day, evening and weekend hours available.
We require:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience
•State level teaching credential or certification (current or expired)
Math OR Verbal SAT/ACT Instructor
As an SAT/ACT Instructor at Sylvan, you’re primary responsibilities are:
Just Teaching. No Lesson Plans. No Preparation.
As a part-time Sylvan SAT/ACT Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan SAT/ACT curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, could be up to 10:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in SAT/ACT prep to students of all levels.
•Must be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings.
SAT MATH we require:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Minimum 2 years of SAT/ACT teaching or tutoring experience preferred
•Must have scored at least a 640 on SAT math
•State level teaching credential or certification preferred (current or expired)
•Comfortable and competent with math through Algebra 2
•Understand how to read to find the answer as opposed to reading to understand
SAT VERBAL we require:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Minimum 2 years of SAT/ACT teaching or tutoring experience preferred
•Must have scored at least a 640 on SAT verbal
•State level teaching credential or certification preferred (current or expired)
•Understand the fundamentals of writing both mechanically and stylistically
•Understand how to read to find the answer as opposed to reading to understand
