Research indicates that phonics instruction alone does not guarantee comprehension. Therefore, Sylvan provides direct reading strategy instruction as well as direct sight vocabulary instruction.
As a result, students can apply learned phonetic knowledge to decoding and comprehending texts on their reading level.
