Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Kelly Alves
Director of Education
Kelly has worked with Sylvan Learning Center since October of 2002. She has a Master's in Special Education from Tennessee Technological University. Kelly loves working with the students at Sylvan because, "We do what it takes to help a child, keeping parents involved, customizing programs, giving each child the individual attention and personal instruction they need. We don't just help kids feel better about school. We help kids feel better about themselves."
Toni Frana
Regional Director
Toni Frana has been with Sylvan since we opened the doors in October of 2002. Toni has a B.A. in Communication with a minor in English and Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. She also has a Master's in Family Studies from the Texas Woman's University. When asked her favorite outcome of working at Sylvan, Toni says, "It's the smile on a child's face. It's the pride in a parent's eyes. It's a moment when the whole family realizes that learning feels good."
