Another Sylvan Star Student!

"Cameron began attending Sylvan Learning Center about six months ago to help with his reading. Before Sylvan, Cameron was struggling with his reading and performing well below grade level. However, with the help of Sylvan’s fantastic tutors, Cameron has progressed tremendously and is well on his way to exceeding his goal. Not only has Cameron gained knowledge and reading skills, he has gained self-confidence, which is essential to success. The improvements are not only evident in the classroom and on report cards, but also in the way he approaches his homework.

I am extremely thankful for Sylvan and highly recommended it to any child that needs additional help; in fact, my older son attended Sylvan also, and had exceptional results as well. I cannot thank Sylvan and their hard working tutors enough for the life tools they have given my sons!"

Sabrina is our Spotlight Student!

"Sabrina started her learning plan in June of 2010. After a difficult 5th grade year, we decided it was time to help Sabrina build on the basic skills. Sabrina had reached a point of NO confidence and believed she was stupid. In her mind, there was no way to do the work so she shut down.

When we arrived for the assessment, Sabrina immediately noticed the "Sabrina, Welcome to Sylvan" sign on the door. She was so excited and smiled from ear to ear. After her first few sessions you could see she was building confidence. It was great to see the transformation happening each week!

Sabrina never shared details, but kept us assured that she was learning. Every teacher went out of their way to help her enjoy learning. Summers are a time for fun, swimming and sleeping in. Saprina rarely complained an was disciplined with her time.

Open house for 6th grade was August 16th. After the orientation session we were given the opportunity to visit the classrooms and introduce ourselves to teachers. The math classroom was very busy and when Sabrina was asked if she wanted to wait and talk to the teacher she replied, "that is ok, I am smart in math now."

After the first two weeks of school Sabrina is doing very well in her subjects. With any student you will have ups and downs in grades. We are very proud of her growth in math, but more than anything in her confidence.

Our goal for Sabrina is to know she can accomplish anything if she sets her mind to it. With the wonderful guidance of our Sylvan center we have no doubt that her growth is limitless."

Our New Star Student- Reishod

"It is a blessing to be a part of Sylvan Learning Center!
Rieshod has struggled with reading since the 1st grade. I stayed in contact with his teachers to see what I could do. We started checking out books from the library to read and working on reading worksheets. After failing his grade twice and the end-of-grade testing for the first time, I decided I had to do something.
I had a friend who told me how Sylvan helped her child. I decided to check into it. I met with Jessica Bailey to talk to her about Rieshod. After talking to Jessica, I was more confident that Sylvan could help.
Rieshod is doing good in school. I see an improvement in his reading skills, and his grades have improved. He really enjoys going to the center to learn. I appreciate the staff and the teachers at Sylvan. They have played a big part in both our lives. Rieshod also sees a change at school—he told Mrs. Jessica that he sees Sylvan working.
I can’t thank the staff and teachers enough.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

Adrea

"I want to thank Sylvan Learning Center for helping Adrea. She has shown so much improvement in the short time she has attended Sylvan. Her willingness to read has improved. She understands what she is reading and therefore, she seems to enjoy reading more.
Her grades in school have also improved. Adrea attends Sylvan for reading, but her grades in math have also improved. When she reads a word problem, she understands it better.
Adrea’s self confidence has also gotten better.
Lastly, the staff at Sylvan are the best! I know they have Adrea’s best interest at heart. I want to thank Sylvan for helping my little girl. Thank you!"

"Jessica and Beverly at the Wilson center are wonderful and have made such a difference in our lives. The teachers are amazing and I hate to imagine where we would be without Sylvan. As dedicated parents, trying to get our child on the right path, there is no doubt that we made the right decision choosing Sylvan. Our experience with Sylvan has been priceless."
