Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Charles E Scott, Jr.
Executive Director
Mr. Scott has been with Sylvan since 2002. He manages the operations of the center, where he conducts parent conferences. He plans and participates in public/media relations and he ensures the safety and security of the center.
Mr. Scott attended Framingham State College where he obtained his BA in Business Administration, obtained his MA in Business Administration from Bentley College and is pursing his PhD from Walden Univ with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Development.
Elizabeth Pate
Director of Education
Elizabeth has been with Sylvan since 2011. She is our Director of Education with a Bachelor's degree in Education from North Georgia College and State University.
Vanla J. Harnett
Center Director
Ms. Harnett is our Center Director. She obtained her Master's Degree in Reading Education w/emphasis in Learning Disabilities from Adelphi University in New York. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY College of Oswego.
Ms. Harnett has been with Sylvan since 2010 and oversees a wonderful staff of dedicated teachers, promotes our Centers's mission in working with students and parents, to help their child achieve academic success, inspire confidence, and develop a lifetime love of learning. She conducts partnership with Sylvan and the schools in the community to share the joy of learning and academic success.
