FREE ACT/SAT Diagnostics and Consultation

In an effort to encourage a greater number of high school students to properly prepare for the college admissions process, the Sylvan center in Rome has begun offering several new courses geared toward college preparation, such as SAT and ACT Prep, College Prep Writing, Advanced (Speed) Reading, and Sylvan Advanced Integrated Math. In addition, we will be providing FREE practice SAT and/or ACT assessments to high school students in the community during each month. The College Board published a finding in 2007 that even one additional exposure to the SAT would increase a student's score by 30 points. We want for each student to feel that he or she has been able to gain the exposure required for success.
Following the assessment, a FREE consultation is held with the student and the parent to review the detailed score report and help the student determine what type of preparation, if any, is necessary.
Some students may choose to take both exams, and they may choose to take them more than once. Our goal is to make sure that each student is taking the college entrance exam that is "right" for them and that will allow to them to gain admission at the college of their choice.

Covering topics from early reading to advanced math, Sylvan is dedicated to providing parents with educational support. FREE tutoring to eligible students!

During the 2011-2012 school year, select students in Chattooga County and Polk County will be eligible for free tutoring, if the child meets each of the following requirements:

- the child attends a Title I school
- the child receives free/reduced lunch
