High School Tutoring Programs
Math
Sylvan Math Essentials
Sylvan's Basic Math Program provides all students with specific instruction in basic computation skills, problem solving, measurement, graphing, equations, and numeration. The program addresses mastery as well as application of mathmatical concepts.
Sylvan Advanced Math - Algebra
The new Sylvan Advanced Math (SAM)program is designed for students taking pre-Algebra or Algebra who need either remediation and/or enrichment of algebraic concepts and skills. SAM was designed to replace the Sylvan Algebra Program and incorporates two new exceptional features: 1)A Technology Activities componant which trains students to use the Texas Instruments graphing calculators, like the TI-83, and 2)A Homework Support componant which is intended to reinforce the students current school curriculum.
Sylvan Advanced Math - Integrated
The new Sylvan Advanced Math Program (SAM)was also designed to instruct students who need either remediation and/or enrichment in Integrated Math concepts, which includes various upper level math skills, such as Algabraic, Geometric, and Trigonemetric skills in addition to other college prep math studies such as advanced problem solving and statistics and probability. This program offers supplemental instruction to train students in the usage of the Texas Instrucments Graphing Calculator (TI-83), as well as a homework support componenet to meet the needs of the students' current school curriculum.

Sylvan Learning Center offers various types of camps for students from Pre-K to High School. During winter, fall, spring, and summer breaks, Sylvan offers camps in Beginning Reading, Math Fact Fluency, Math Problem Solving, Writing, Study Skills, and SAT/ACT Prep.

Sylvan Academic Reading
Designed for all students, Sylvan's Academic Reading Program helps students to develop both the basic skills and the higher level critical thinking skills needed for success in reading.
Sylvan Advanced Reading
The Sylvan Advanced Reading Program is designed for the student performing at or above grade level who desires to learn the techniques associated with speed reading.
Sylvan Camps
Sylvan Learning Center offers various types of camps for students from Pre-K to High School. During winter, fall, spring, and summer breaks, Sylvan offers camps in Beginning Reading, Math Fact Fluency, Math Problem Solving, Writing, Study Skills, and SAT/ACT Prep.
Writing
Sylvan Academic Writing
Designed to improve writing skills, the program teaches the process approach to writing paragraphs, letters, and essays, while stressing the fundamentals of capitalization, punctuation, sentence building, and editing.
College Prep Writing
The New College Prep Writing Program will be available beginning January 2008. With such an emphasis being placed on essay composition, as evidenced by the additional writing portions of certain standardized assessments such as the SAT and ACT, college entrance exams, etc, Sylvan is proud to offer a course which will prepare students for writing at the collegiate level.

Sylvan Study Skills
Sylvan's Study Skills program is designed for all studetns who perform on grade level but need effective study techniques, organizational skills, time management skills, and test-taking strategies. The program includes reading and listening skills as well as outlining, note-taking, and test-taking strategies.

The Homework Help program was created for the student requiring monitoring and minimal assistance during homework time. Homework help provides the student a study environment and support system for maintaining success in school.
