Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Ms. Angela Baron has worked with Sylvan Learning since 2003 after graduation from Berry College in Rome Georgia. She joined our center in October 2004 as the Center Director and has become an integral part of the center's success. She completed her Master's program at Jacksonville State University and became center owner in July 2007.
Mrs. Claire has been with Sylvan of Rome since October 2004. She retired from teaching in the Rome City School system, having devoted over 30 years to working with children. At Sylvan, Mrs. Claire works with students in reading and writing Pre-K through 12th grade and elementary math students.
Mrs. Marilyn is a Floyd County School teacher who has been with Sylvan since May 2006. She works with students in both the Sylvan Academic Reading Program and the Sylvan Academic Writing Program. She has a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree from the University of West Georgia, consults for the West Jr. Writing Project, and is a member of the National Writing Project.
Mrs. Julie Neighbors joined the Sylvan family in early 2007 and has already made a significant impact in the academic success of Beginning and Academic Readers, as well as our math students. Mrs. Julie retired from teaching after working for 32 years as an elementary teacher in Gordon County.
Mrs. Green began her Sylvan career in September 2007 and has quickly become an integral part of team. Mrs. Angela embodies our mission, "to ensure success for every child," making it her goal to attend various school activities and functions with her students. Whether teaching elementary or high school math, Mrs. Angela makes math enjoyable, and most importantly, conquerable.
Mrs. Margaret Hannah has been employed with Sylvan for since December 2007. She began her employment as a test administrator and classroom manager. July of 2008, Mrs. Hannah attended Sylvan University to receive Center Director training and certification.
Ms. Betsy came to Sylvan in August of 2010 after earning her Early Childhood Education degree from Berry College. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University. Ms. Betsy instructs our K-12th grade math students, and our Academic Readers.
Ms. Melanie joined the Sylvan team in August 2010 after earning her degree from Berry College where she is currently working on her Masters of Education degree. Ms. Melanie instructs our Academic Reading students and our Math Essentials students.
Ms. Cissy began working at Sylvan in 2009. Ms. Cissy instructs our Academic Readers and our Math Essentials students. In addition to working at Sylvan, she is also a teacher at Chattooga High School. Prior to her career as an educator, Ms. Cissy earned her degree from Berry College in Psychology and worked with CPS for nearly nine years.
Ms. Christy joined the Sylvan family in September of 2010. Ms. Christy instructs Sylvan Math students of all ages. She is currently an Algebra teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina, but hopes to move closer to Rome in the near future!
Ms. Katrina joined the Sylvan family in August of 2010. Ms. Katrina is a an instructor for many of the Sylvan programs including Reading, Math, Writing, Study Skills, and SAT/ACT Prep. In addition, Ms. Katrina has begun the training process to become Director of Education. She graduated from the Unviersity of Vermont with a Secondary Education degree and has taught Language Arts and Special Education at public schools in Vermont and North Carolina prior to moving to Georgia.
