Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Dr. Barbara Lovett
Center Director
Dr. Lovett taught nursing and psychology for four years, directed a federally funded nursing research grant for three years, then practiced psychology for over 20 years before opening the Oakwood Sylvan Learning Center in 1998. Dr. Lovett and her husband have a farm in Lumpkin County and worship in Cleveland.
Bonnie Keating
Director of Education
Ms. Keating's degree is in music education. She has 29 years classroom and department management experience. She taught first grade and in the Creative and Performing Arts. In the CAPA program, she was department head and vocal music teacher. She and her husband live in the Flowery Branch area. She joined Sylvan in March 2005.
