Are you ready for the SAT or ACT? There is a lot of pressure for students to score well on these assessments and the next test dates are just around the corner. These test scores play a critical role in the admissions process to colleges and universities. A test score can affect the chances of getting into a first choice college. This is why the Sylvan Learning Center of Thomasville is partnering with local high schools to offer a free Diag Day. This is a dedicated day where students are able to take a practice test for either the SAT or the ACT under the exact proctoring conditions that they will face when taking the real test.
After the tests have been scored, parents and students are invited to a presentation to discuss student’s scores and to find out essential information about college admissions.

Sylvan has a number of services that we can provide for our area’s home school population including:
Is your child struggling with homework? Is homework a source of family tension? Sylvan has programs that help with the homework “blues”.
Homework Help
This program is for students who simply need structure and supervision to get their homework done. Homework Help is best suited for students that need a little extra support with homework, are relatively independent, but can’t seem to “get it done.” Homework Help Sessions are purchased as blocks of hours that are used when needed during the month.
Homework Support
This is for students who need individualized attention and need to be taught skills that they didn’t grasp in the classroom. They need a teacher to teach them the concepts so they can complete their assignments. These students are typically struggling with concepts that were missed in prior grades but need help to keep their heads above water. Generally, the class is just moving too fast for them. These sessions are regularly scheduled instruction.
