"My son was in jeopardy of having to repeat 1st grade when we came to Sylvan. We live in Orlando, Florida and enrolled Dylan with Sylvan in East Orlando (off od Lake Underhill Road) Crystal and her team ht the ground running with him and had nothing but positive feedback. Dylan successfully finished 1st grade and has had a tremendous year in 2nd grade. He is on target to finish the year with 95% probality of continued reading success. Crystal, Jessica and Mr. Dave gave him the confidence needed to open that door to learning and growing. As recently as yesterday Dylan asked to go back to Sylvan to learn more and become even better.

Our Deepest Gratitude

"Our son, Brandon has always been a good student. He read phonetically well and very fluently since being in the first grade, however, he always had an issue with comprehending what he was reading. In addition, he consistently did poorly on the annual FCAT (Florida Assessment Tests); so much so, that his confidence started to wane after each year of little or no success. We tried everything. We bought him books, encouraged his reading, rewarded him, signed him up for FCAT test skill classes, but they all had incremental change. Nothing seemed to stick.

Finally, when he did poorly on his 10th Grade FCAT, he was very upset about it. As parents, we felt helpless, but we decided we needed to try something. After all, you cannot do the same things and expect different results. We saw a Sylvan commercial and decided to give it a try.

We went to the Sylvan and the entire staff was welcoming, they set the right expectations and were very empathetic to our challenges. They tested Brandon to get a baseline and to create a personalized learning plan. The results were astonishing! Our 10th grader had an eight grade vocabulary and FIFTH grade comprehension skills. This brought tears to our eyes as parents. Why didn't we do something sooner?

The change in Brandon was almost instantaneous when he started at Sylvan. They were consistent with testing his progress, keeping the parents in the loop and rewarding him for his good work. After several months of sessions with Sylvan, his confidence started to improve and his grades improved in school. He went from an 8th grade vocabulary to a 12th grade and from a 5th grade comprehension to an 11th grade! Not only this, he is more independent with completing his work, and his writing and relational skills have improved greatly.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to Sylvan team for their program. It saved Brandon and has made college a solid reality for him. Thank you so much! We are forever indebted."
