Success at SylvanMy daughter's teacher recommended that she be retained in third grade. She attended approximately 55 hours of reading tutoring at Sylvan this summer. We switched schools and she was mistakenly placed in a fourth grade classroom for a week before the school realized their mistake. She was doing well and wanted to stay in the fourth grade class. After a school assessment that she did well on, the new school agreed to keep her in the fourth grade class. I am sure that if she had not attended Sylvan over the summer, she would still be in third grade today. - G. Lyons |
Learning is fun!As a mother who homeschools my daughter, I would like to thank Sylvan for working along side of me and giving me the assistance I needed for my fourth-grade daughter. She struggled in school with reading and spelling for many months. She now offers to read and really puts forth an effort on her spelling assignments. We've had to institute a half an hour of reading time before going to bed because she just can't get enough! We have gone from 'I hate school' to 'Learning really is fun, Mom.' - Joanne S. |
Third grader now on Honor RollMy husband and I were frustrated and out of ideas of how to help our daughter enjoy and savor the learning process. Her grades were deplorable and her self-confidence was lacking. She was just not connecting. - Jim and Lori G. |
Son and daughter both benefit from SylvanIn fifth grade my son was struggling to make a C in math. By the end of the school year he was making As and Bs. Now in seventh grade he is getting As and Bs in an advanced math class. My daughter is in second grade and currently attending Sylvan. When she started she could not even count to 10. Eight months later she is now on grade level for her second grade class. Sylvan has been a great help for both my children. - Tracie S. |
Third grade successMy daughter is currently enrolled in Sylvan Learning Center. I considered tutoring because I saw she was falling behind in grammar/vocabulary in second grade. We had hired other tutors in the past and they seemed not to be very effective. By the time 3rd grade began, I felt I was running out of time. I met with Mitch at the Carrollwood location and he right away assured me Sylvan could help her. I remember how I felt when he told me he could bring her up to grade level with 100 hours of tutoring. I thought I would never see the end results. - Leslie B. |
