Third grade success
"My daughter is currently enrolled in Sylvan Learning Center. I considered tutoring because I saw she was falling behind in grammar/vocabulary in second grade. We had hired other tutors in the past and they seemed not to be very effective. By the time 3rd grade began, I felt I was running out of time. I met with Mitch at the Carrollwood location and he right away assured me Sylvan could help her. I remember how I felt when he told me he could bring her up to grade level with 100 hours of tutoring. I thought I would never see the end results.
Today, just six months later, my daughter is at grade level. Plus, not only have her grades improved but also her confidence. This school year I will be attending for the first time "The Honors Assembly." She didn’t just barely receive honor roll, but she did just miss Principal’s Honor Roll by a few points. I have also noticed throughout this process, she is not needing my undivided attention while completing her homework. She is definitely not as dependent on me as she was when we began this process.
Her success at Sylvan could not have been more rewarding to us as parents. Mitch’s staff has played such an important roll in this whole process. His staff have all been very comforting for myself as well as for my daughter, So much so that I have chosen not only to continue her tutoring but also enroll my other daughter, just so she can stay on task. I would like to praise Sylvan for their work. I truly believe, if it wasn’t for them we would definitely not be where we are today. As a mother, my daughter’s academic achievements have been so much more rewarding than I had ever thought. My husband and I firmly believe, Sylvan will always be a part of our children’s academic success. Thank you for everything you have done."
