Neysha received her B.A. in Business Management in 2006. At Sylvan, she really enjoys learning about the programs we offer and how we make a difference in a child's life while helping them reach their full potential. Originally from Boston, she moved to Florida in 2004 with her husband and two children in search of more sun. Her hobbies include interior design and taking her children to their soccer games.
Michelle graduated from Southeastern University in 2006 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She has taught at Sylvan for two and a half years. When Michelle is not working she enjoys reading, going to movies, and eating out. Michelle's favorite aspect of working at Sylvan is getting to know each of the students and watching their confidence grow as they begin to succeed.
Debbie has degrees in Communicative Arts, Applied Arts, Spanish and Legal Studies. She teaches 8th grade Language Arts in the Polk County School District. Besides doing art work, Debbie is also a professional jazz singer. She sings in many places and can be heard at the Antiquarian Restaurant in Lakeland every Saturday night.
Jennifer has been teaching for many years. She received her degree from the University of Florida. Jennifer is very excited to be getting married this Christmas. She enjoys spending time with her fiance, watching movies, playing video games, and reading. She also enjoys writing poetry, although she does not do it nearly as much as she should. Jennifer cannot imagine a time in her life when she would not work with children, whether as a teacher, or in some other field, such as psychology.
Linda has been a teacher in Polk County for 32 years. Linda has been with Sylvan for 10 years. What she loves most about Sylvan is the chance to work with students and see their learning gains up close.
"Mr. Bernie" brings many years of teaching experience from New Jersey and has been at Sylvan for almost 10 years! Although he was a football and basketball coach for many years, he now spends much free time with his wife and golfing at Imperial Lakes. He enjoys working with older students conquering their math challenges!
Mr. Ken brings 36 years of educational experience to Sylvan. He taught high school math in Michigan before retiring. He loves teaching at Sylvan. He enjoys seeing the progress made by the students. He enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
Jay was born in Nashua, New Hampshire before moving to Lakeland at a young age. He graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2006 before working as a lead instructor at the Sylvan Learning Center in Winter Park, FL. Jay is a sports enthusiast, and enjoys spending time with friends and listening to music. His favorite part of working for Sylvan is getting to know his students on an individual basis, and helping each one of them achieve their goals.
Rob was born and raised in Phoenix. He received his teaching degree in 2003 from Arizona State University. He has been tutoring since 1988 and with Sylvan since 2005. When not teaching he enjoys reading, writing poetry and being with friends.
