Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best

Neysha Rivera
West/Central Regional Director
Neysha received her B.A. in Business Management in 2006. At Sylvan, she really enjoys learning about the programs we offer and how we make a difference in a child's life while helping them reach their full potential. Originally from Boston, she moved to Florida in 2004 with her husband and two children in search of more sun. Her hobbies include interior design and taking her children to their soccer games.
Michelle Eddy
Director of Education
Michelle graduated from Southeastern University in 2006 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She has taught at Sylvan for two and a half years. When Michelle is not working she enjoys reading, going to movies, and eating out. Michelle's favorite aspect of working at Sylvan is getting to know each of the students and watching their confidence grow as they begin to succeed.
Linda Trimbath
Instructor
Linda has been a teacher in Polk County for 32 years. Linda has been with Sylvan for 10 years. What she loves most about Sylvan is the chance to work with students and see their learning gains up close.
Bernie McCracken
Instructor
"Mr. Bernie" brings many years of teaching experience from New Jersey and has been at Sylvan for almost 10 years! Although he was a football and basketball coach for many years, he now spends much free time with his wife and golfing at Imperial Lakes. He enjoys working with older students conquering their math challenges!
Angela Chervenyak
Instructor
Angela grew up in Pennsylvania, and then she moved to Lakeland to attend Southeastern University. After graduating, she began teaching in Auburndale, FL. When she is not working she enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her puppy, Emma.
Erica Bloompott
Teacher Assistant
Erica was born in Winter Haven, FL. Erica has an older sister and a younger sister. She enjoys cooking and cake decorating. At home, Erica has a dog named Puppy and a cat named Pumpkin. Erica has always enjoyed working with children.
Lindsey Leskis
Instructor
Lindsey graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She is a teacher in Polk County. Lindsey enjoys spending time with her husband, going to the beach, and reading. Lindsey loves teaching, as well as learning from her students.
Bryan Dion
Instructor
Bryan was born and raised in Niantic, Connecticut. He attended Central Connecticut State University and graduated with a political science degree in 2010. He moved to Lakeland, FL in the summer of 2011. Bryan is applying to law school to pursue his goal of being a lawyer.
He lives in Lakeland with his girlfriend Tiffany and his two dogs Lily and Jasmine.
