SYLVAN AT RIVER LANDINGS ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2007-2008
Sylvan at River Landings will offer three scholarships for East Manatee County Schools.
BRADENTON- September 2007- Sylvan at River Landings is offering scholarships to Kinnan Elementary, Buffalo Creek Middle School and Braden River High School.
Scholarship recipients are chosen by the schools that are given the scholarships. The scholarship will pay for a Sylvan diagnostic test in the Academic Reading program and in the Math Essentials program, along with 36 hours of Sylvan tutoring.
Sylvan has been providing scholarships to the Manatee County School district for three years. Sylvan is proud to be a business partner with the Manatee County Schools. Sylvan will be continuing efforts throughout the school year to connect with the schools of Manatee County.

September 2007 - Sylvan Learning Center is sponsoring a 13 week program featuring ABC Channel seven’s special program Spotlight On Schools. Spotlight On Schools features schools from Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Spotlight on schools will feature successful teachers, students and school programs.
Sylvan at River Landings will have a 30-second commercial during the program. The commercial will feature testimonials from students and parents of Sylvan at River Landings.
Spotlight On Schools airs on Thursdays at 6:25 a.m. and Fridays at 5:20 p.m.

SYLVAN AT RIVER LANDINGS ANNOUNCES WINTER READING CAMP
Students from seventh grade to high school can benefit from the Advanced Reading Skills Program.
Nov.19, 2007 - Sylvan is offering a 12-hour Advanced Reading Skills Program during Winter Break. The Advanced Reading Skills Program enables students with a way to increase their reading speed and their comprehension level in preparation for the FCAT. In addition to providing preparation for the FCAT, the program provides students the opportunity to continue improving their reading skills, while on vacation from school.
The program takes six days with two-hour sessions a day. Sylvan is offering the Advanced Reading Skills Program on December 26, 27 and 28 and January 2, 3 and 4. The classes will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday).
Sylvan is encouraging students to bring a friend to Winter Reading Camp. Students who bring a friend will receive course materials for free!
