"Shelby had a horrible time with spelling and math. She failed every spelling test. After Sylvan, she has come home with a spelling test where she scored 115%! Her math skills have improved tremendously also. Her teacher has mentioned the difference. Going to Sylvan gave her the skills and confidence needed to succeed. I highly recommend Sylvan and tell everyone I can this is the place to go. Thank you for making my daughter's experience one she is willing to repeat every week!"

"Sylvan has been a blessing in our son's life; a true stepping stone. Being overwhelmed and confused with school work was an everyday occurrence. But Sylvan has regained our son's confidence and morale. He truly looks forward to going to Sylvan and learning. And the fun that he has at Sylvan is such a great added bonus. The staff is fantastic. Thank you for putting such a wonderful tool together!"

"Before starting Sylvan, my son John would cry daily that he did not want to go to school. He had so much difficulty reading which made every subject hard for him. We tried so many things before Sylvan; extra work, more reading, computer programs, private tutors, but none of them worked. John has been going to Sylvan for about 6 months now. He actually enjoys reading and is better in every subject. He doesn't cry when its time for school and it makes me happy when he is happy."

"When my daughter, Kaitlyn, first started coming to Sylvan she had very poor grades, and very low self esteem. Kaitlyn was skeptical of Sylvan at first, but within the first week she started coming around. By the end of the first month she was actually excited to go and looked forward to her time there. Kaitlyn is on her third month now and you can see a real improvement in her learning. Instead of saying "I can't" all of the time she now tells us about what she has learned. Sylvan is the best thing we have ever tried to help our daughter. We are starting to see improvement in her grades at school as well as seeing Kaitlyn gain some self-confidence and it is all thanks to Sylvan."

"A few months ago, it was very questionable whether our senior student was going to graduate. He was only a few months from graduation and his grades were terrible. His self-confidence regarding school and learning was non-existent. Out of desperation, we contacted Sylvan. We needed quick results, and we got them! Our son's grades went from D's and F's to B's and C's. For the first time ever, he was motivated about school and his confidence soared. He looked forward to his sessions at Sylvan. He's excited about graduation and has begun planning for college. We are very grateful to the folks at Sylvan and would advise anyone with a child that is strugling in school to make the investment. You'll never get a better return on your money."

What a Great Summer!

"My daughter successfully completed 2nd grade but struggled to stay on-track with her classmates throughout the year. She requires more one-on-one attention and instruction, so as any dedicated mother would do, I would work with her each night to grasp concepts and complete homework, classwork, reading AR goals combined with her extra-curricular activities.
So as the school year ended, I wanted to build her confidence and have her better prepared to enter 3rd grade. I immediately thought of Sylvan. My cousin had her son attend last summer and discussed how helpful it was for him.
Well, it exceeded my expectations because not only has my daughter mastered skills in a few months that took her all year but she feels more confident and prepared for her next school level. Personally, I found the assessment to be an excellent gauge for understanding what she has mastered and what she needs to focus on during her summer learning. She enjoyed her learning and because the instructors understood she was a visual learner they used concepts that incorporated that process. Throughout her studies at Sylvan the instructors would identify areas to work on at home and her progression.
Overall, my daughter and I feel this was a positive learning experience that gave her the boost she desperately needed. I plan to make this a summer tradition for Brynn."

"My son Tommy was in 4th grade and as the year progressed he continued to not feel well, not want to attend school, etc. I hesitated to contact Sylvan. Finally I did.
Tommy was excited upon finding out he would be going to the learning center and the end of his first day, he was eager to return. He told me what a nice time he had. There was not a lot of noise nor a bunch of children picking and making fun of him.
He was happy with the environment and the instructors. My confidence was building in what I had heard and seen for myself.
While waiting on several occasions I listened to one small child repeatedly ask a teacher "Can I come back? When? Later? Can I?" He was so interested in returning. I was surprised!
My son has been showing signs of progress and he wants to attend and learn more - to the point of asking to be enrolled in the reading program also. He even asked to go for extra learning on a day he is not regularly scheduled.
He is not the average child and I believe at Sylvan he is treated and taught for the individual he is, helping with his self esteem to learn and grow.
I wish I would have contacted Sylvan sooner!
Thanks to the founder and the staff here in Inverness."

Loves to Attend

"Autumn has been in the Sylvan program for three years. It's not only made a noticeable improvement in her math grades but has made her more aware of "how" to study and think problems through. She looks forward to going each week because the instructors make learning more enjoyable. She also likes to earn the tokens to shop at the Sylvan Store. She always comes out of her class with a big smile and talks about what she learned as we drive home."

- Hollie, Mother of Autumn

Loves to Read Now!

"Jordan was struggling with his grades before Sylvan. He couldn't read anything and Sylvan helped with all of that. Now he has the the confidence to read anything put in front of him."

- Yvonne, Mother of Jordan
