Annette Miller
Owner/Executive Director
Annette has been a Sylvan Owner for over eleven years. She has enjoyed operating centers that have guided students in several counties to reach their maximum academic potential. Annette currently owns and operates nine Sylvan Learning Center as well as plays an active role in the communities in order to help educate parents about the wonderful opportunity Sylvan can bring to a child of any age. Annette has been married for ten years to Doug and is a proud mother of two beautiful children.
Rebecca Coleman
Center Director
Rebecca received her B.A. in Science Education and Biology in 1997. Rebecca has been with Sylvan for 10 years. She began her career with Sylvan as a teacher, and worked her way up to Director of Education, and then Center Director. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her cat and her dog. What she loves most about Sylvan is meeting with parents and watching the students' academic success blossom.
Catherine Jacobs
Director of Education
Catherine received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in communications in 2002. She began her career with Sylvan by working part-time as a curriculum coordinator. After teaching in the school system for a year, Catherine returned to Sylvan. She has now been with Sylvan for 7 years. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She loves seeing the academic turnaround that can happen for students in such a short amount of time. She loves to see the confidence these children possess after being in our program.
Vicky Morejon
Administrative Assistant/Instructional Intern
Vicky was born in Venezuela and was raised on a little island called Bonaire for 6 years. Upon moving to Florida, Vicky graduated from a local high school, Gateway High. She is currently enrolled at Florida Christian College and is majoring in Cross-Cultural Ministries. She also has her Associates Degree in Elementary Education. Vicky loves working with children and Sylvan is giving her a great opportunity in her field.
Michele Chabrol, MS Educational Leadership, BA Education
Assistant Director
Michele holds certificates of education in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida. She has been with Sylvan for over 5 years and has lived in Florida for over 10 years. She currently teaches kindergarten in Osceola county and also shares her artistic talents with at-risk youth by teaching an art class 2 days per week.
Mary Black
Instructor
Mary is a life-long learner and dedicated Educator for over 30 years. She has taught school in various levels and then became a Principal. After she retired, she came back to education as an Assistant Principal. She enjoys tutoring students to see them grow and progress.
Mabel Gonzalez, MA ESOL, BA Psychology
Instructor
Mabel was born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico. She is married and has four children. She has over 18 years of teaching experience in both the private and public schools. Besides teaching at Sylvan, She currently works at Gateway High School, the Hospital Homebound program, and at the Adult Learning center teaching English to adults.
Susan Gribble, BS Elementary Education
Instructor
Susan is a native of Florida. She moved to the Orlando area several years ago from Destin, FL. She is a graduate of the University of South Alabama. She currently teaches at Poinciana Elementary and enjoys working with children.
Felita Martinez, BA Elementary Education
Instructor
Felita was born in Puerto Rico, and raised in Chicago, Illinois where she completed her education. She has been a teacher for over twelve years. She enjoys working with children. Felita is completing her Master's Degree in ESOL, and she hopes to teach English as a second language in the future. Felita enjoys cleaning the house, spending time with her family, and traveling.
Diana Nieves, MS, BS, AAS
Instructor
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Diana taught elementary school for 9 years in both Catholic and public schools. She has been married for 30 years and has one child. She is currently working at SeaWorld and at Sylvan.
Patricia Timp, BA Psychology
Instructor
Patricia was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. She moved to Florida several years ago. Patricia feels that Sylvan instills each student with the knowledge and pride and incentive to learn more about themselves and their education.
