Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Ms. Gray has teaching experience, including individual and group study tutoring experience. She has Professional Certifications in Secondary English from the state of Florida, North Carolina and Georgia and an Advanced Professional Certification in Secondary English from the State of Maryland, respectively.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Public Administration; she has developed Reading/Language Arts programs, and produced written materials.
Ms. Stephanie Gaskin brings over thirteen years of teaching experience to Sylvan Learning Center. In addition, she has completed coursework in Master's in Reading Education and is currently studying instructional strategies for English language learners. As a certified exceptional education instructor, she has expertise in one-on-one tutoring. She enjoys music, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and dance exercises (Jazzercise and Zumba).
Ms. Perez is a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida. She has a wide range of experience covering areas such as teaching English Language Learners, middle school levels, and more. Ms. Perez truly loves the teaching profession. She believes that “a good education is the most essential tool a student needs to be successful in life”. Ms. Perez considers the greatest reward from teaching is that one can make a difference in a student’s life.
Ms. Casse Carling is a product of St. Lucie County Schools! She attended Stetson University in DeLand, Florida and majored in English Literature before returning to her alma mater, Lincoln Park Academy, to teach Language Arts. She is a certified teacher that has a Gifted Endorsement. She was both a student of and trained as a teacher in the International Baccalaureate Program at LPA. Prior to teaching, Ms. Carling worked as a reporter for Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers. She now teaches Writing at St. Lucie West Centennial High School. Ms. Carling’s teaching philosophy: People learn best when they're inspired.
Dr. William Britton is originally from Warren, Michigan. Dr. Britton received his Bachelor of Science in Science Education and a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. He also received a Doctor of Ministries in Christian Education from Landmark Baptist College in Haines City, Florida. Dr. Britton spent two years teaching Math and Science at Pensacola Christian Academy. He has spent the last seventeen years teaching Math, Science, Spanish, and other classes in beautiful Fort Pierce! He has ten years in school administration and is excited at the opportunity to affect young people lives through education.
Ms. Baumez has a B.A. Degree from the University of Southern California. She is world traveler enthusiast and has been to 9 countries, including Mexico, Thailand and several European countries. Ms. Baumez loves to play piano, snowboard and make home videos. Ms. Baumez speaks Spanish, has a deep passion for teaching, and remains active within her community.
Ms. Judith is originally from Illinois where she taught for the public school system. She is certified in both Illinois and Florida with extensive experience in teaching private, public and home school academic curriculums. Ms. Judith enjoys working with children of all ages and loves her job as an educator.
Regina graduated from Glasboro State College (now Rowan University) with a degree in special education. She has taught in both New Jersey and Florida. Regina enjoys movies, books, and spending time with her five children. Since 1999, Regina has been teaching with Sylvan Learning Center!
Mrs. Ciamei is a true Floridian, even though she was born in Akron, Ohio! As a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, with a B.A in Elementary Education, Ms. Ciamei decided to become a teacher in order to aid students in reaching their full potential. Ms. Ciamei has experience working for the St. Lucie County School Board and loves interacting with children of all ages.
Ms. Nash is originally from California, but have lived in Fort Pierce for 20 years. Ms. Nash is a product of the St. Lucie County School District, where she completed her secondary education at Lincoln Park Academy. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree at FAMU. Currently, Ms. Nash is a graduate student at Nova Southeastern University where she is pursing a Master’s in Science Education degree. Ms. Nash is an accomplished musician (having played flute for 15 years). She also enjoys reading and science.
Mr. Recknagel is the consummate family man. He is the proud father of a 3 year old son named Brady and a 5 year old daughter named Ella. Rob received a Bachelors Degree in Science from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. Mr. Rechnagel pursued graduate school, but returned to his passion for teaching. He has taught for the past 10 years at levels ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. The past two years he has taught 10th grade Biology at Treasure Coast High School in Port St. Lucie. He has also been the boy's Varsity Basketball Coach at TCHS for the past two seasons. Mr. Recknagel is excited to have the opportunity to impact young lives at Sylvan Learning Center!
