Kristen Bishop
Center Director
Kristen started with Sylvan Learning Center in October 2006. She brings to Sylvan many years of experience in customer service management, business management, and college admissions. She attended Northern Kentucky University and received her B.A. in Speech Communication and a minor in Marketing. Kristen also has years of experience with tutoring for the Ohio READS Program. She is excited to be working at Sylvan and to continue working with families to meet the students' individual needs.
Heather Boyer
Director of Education
I graduated from Morehead State University in December 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education. I performed my student teaching in Bath County School district in Owingsville, KY. I student taught K/1st grade split and 5th grade Math. I enjoy working with children and teaching to their specific learning style. I have worked for Sylvan Learning Center since January 2007. I started out as an instructor of Academic Reading, Math Essentials, Study Skills and Beginning Reading. I am excited to be the Director of Education for Tri-County and Crestview Hills centers. The main goal of Sylvan is to improve confidence and that has always been my goal as an educator. Outside of working at Sylvan, I enjoy outdoor activities, reading and travelling.
Anne Floccari

I have worked for the Sylvan Learning Center for about 3½ years and as a part time Director of Education at Crestview Hills for over a year. I received my teaching certificate from Edinboro University of PA. I love working with the students and getting to know all of the families.

I am currently enrolled as a Junior at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills where I am pursuing a degree in both Secondary Education and Mathematics. I've worked at Sylvan since December 2005, and enjoy getting to know all the students. As the TA, I get to plan the transition times for the students and help them become socially interactive at the Center. I love watching the students become more confident and comfortable in educational situations. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and reading.
Stan Schimerman
Instructor - Advanced Math, ACT, and SAT
Stan holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Washington University and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University Of Cincinnati. Stan completed a long and successful career as a database consultant and now enjoys one of his passions, teaching math (all levels) to students at Sylvan. Stan has had notable success helping Sylvan students improve ACT scores and with advanced math topics.
Jennifer Piper
Instructor - Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Math Essentials, and Test Administration
I am originally from Canton, Ohio and now reside in Crescent Springs, Kentucky, with my husband and dog. I enjoy spending time with family & friends, reading, collecting teddy bears, and camping. I am a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, where I received my B.S. in Elementary Education, May 2001. I have taught at LaValle Private School the last seven years (2001-2008) in grades K-2. At LaValle I have guided students individually in Reading and Math. This allowed students to work at their own pace and master skills before moving on to new ones. I challenge students daily and many times my students are able to work above grade level. I was lead teacher during the 2007-2008 school year and have led my fellow colleagues and assisted the administration. I began working at Sylvan in June of 2007 and greatly enjoy this environment where I can help students individually. I am enthusiastic, knowledgeable, hard working, and dedicated. I am very passionate about education and love helping students feel self-confident about what they are capable of. It is my privilege and honor to help guide and shape children, and help them become successful.
Cindy Sheehan
Instructor - Beginning Reading, Math, Study Skills, Reading, Writing
I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Education and am currently completing my IECE Certification. I have worked at Sylvan for 6 years and have worked with many students in math, reading, writing and study skills. I have been the director of a local preschool for 15 years and am currently the director of Lakeside Presbyterian Preschool serving over 250 students. I love working with kids, watching them as they master skills, and at the end reaching their goals. I have 3 grown children of my own and 1 grandchild.
Wanda Stoeckle
Instructor - Reading, Math, Study Skills, and Homework Support
I recieved my Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, and my 60 hours over (Rank I) from Northern Kentucky Unversity. I retired from teaching at Ludlow Elementary in Ludlow, Kentucky in 2000 after 29 years of teaching in the fifth and sixth grade. After retiring from Ludlow, I taught in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 in Catholic Schools. I have been teaching at Sylvan since May, 2002. I enjoy teaching and working with students of all ages. I enjoy reading, walking and doing counted cross stitching.
Elizabeth Huss

I graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I enjoy meeting students who are new to Sylvan and assisting them in
finding the subject areas where they need improvement. I've worked for Sylvan many years and have seen a lot of students experience great academic improvement! In my free time I love to read novels, write, and look at picture books with my son.
Cindy Wooden
Instructor - Reading, Math, Beginning Reading, Study Skills
I am a veteran teacher who has taught twenty-six years in elementary and middle schools. I am certified in grades K-8 and have masters' degrees in Reading and Arts & Humanities. In 2003 I received my National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist. Presently, I teach Language Arts and Science at Turkey Foot Middle School. I started working at Sylvan in January of 2006, and absolutely love working with all ages of children. Every child is unique, and Sylvan teaches the students different strategies so they can be successful and feel good about their accomplishments. Whenever I have free time, I enjoy sports, outdoor activities, and traveling.
Nina Thueneman
Instructor - Reading, Beginning Reading, Study Skills, Writing
Nina is no stranger to Crestview Hills. Over the year she has served as a "Guest" instructor in the Sylvan Study Skills and Sylvan Academic Writing programs. Now as she makes Crestview Hills her home center, she brings fourteen years of Sylvan experience and seven years of classroom teaching. Her degree is from Morehead State University with a double major in English. She has a solid understanding of the Sylvan approach to learning and how the Sylvan process enhances each child’s learning potential.
Annette Zottoli
Instructor - Reading, Math, Beginning Reading
I am from Connecticut and taught at Sylvan there for 5 years. I also taught high school English, Creative Writing, and SAT Prep for six years. Now, I live in Erlanger with my husband, one year old son, and two chocolate labs.
Julie Aubry
Instructor - Reading, Math, Study Skills, Writing, ACT
I work for an educational foundation where I teach astronomy in a planetarium and design reading programs for under-served students. I am an accomplished writer. I have been published in an anthology of short stories and in University of Cincinnati's literary journal. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Secondary Education/Language Arts. I have a passion for teaching students to not only see their potential but to express it fully.
