I was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. After graduating from Bishop Luers High School, I attended the University of Notre Dame and then transferred to Indiana University to complete my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education. I have been fortunate to receive several national awards for our local centers, including Director of the Year and Outstanding Operation Award. My 20-plus years with Sylvan have been successful and fulfilling- What more can you ask for from a profession!
I was born in Hollywood, Florida, but moved to Fort Wayne at a young age. I graduated from Northrup High School in 2001. I attended Ball State University and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education:Mathematics. I taught for three years in public schools. I got married in 2007 to my wife, Jamie. I love teaching because I can see the light turn on and the elation when someone understands something they never thought they could. I enjoy tutoring students in Math, Homework, Reading, and Study Skills. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and playing all kinds of games from video games to board games and paper/pencil RPGs.
I was born and raised in Van Wert, Ohio, where I attended Van Wert High School. I was a band member, Spanish Club officer, and in the top third of my class. I then attended Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's of Arts in both English and History. I teach Math at Ward High School for Fort Wayne Community Schools. I started at Sylvan in August 2005 where I tutor students in Math, Reading, Homework, Study Skills, and Writing. My current interests are Linguistics, Film, and Computer Science. I dabble in speaking five languages, but none fluently. I can also speak seven programming languages. I watch a ton of movies and enjoy playing X-Box Live trying not to be a target on Halo!
After attending, Bryan High School in Bryan, Ohio, I went on to get my B.S. in Chemistry Education from Bowling Green State University. Following graduation I taught Physics and Chemistry for two years at Cardinal Stritch High School. I have moderated and advised student leaders in many activities including Drama, Science Club, and the FIRST Robotics team at Toledo Technology Academy. I currently teach Chemistry at Northrop High School for Fort Wayne Community Schools. I began tutoring at Sylvan in 2011 working with students in the areas of Math, Reading, Writing, Homework, and study skills. In my free time, I enjoy camping, singing, playing trumpet, guitar, and piano.
I am originally from Indiana where I attended Ball State University and earned A B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. After graduating, I taught kindergarten for a year at Waterloo Elementary School. After a tough decision, I chose to substitute teach the next year at Fort Wayne Community Schools. I then moved to Rhode Island and was a substitute and work at the Sylvan center there. I am now back in the Fort and working as a Title 1 Interventionist at Franke Park Elementary School as well as tutoring at Sylvan. I love working with students with Math, Reading, and Writing skills. In my spare time, I like to read, cook, roller blade, take walks with my dog, and watch my boyfriend play baseball. Go Red Sox!
