Bruce N. Ottenweller
Director
I was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. After graduating from Bishop Luers High School, I attended the University of Notre Dame and then transferred to Indiana University to complete my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education. I have been fortunate to receive several national awards for our local centers, including Director of the Year and Outstanding Operation Award. My 20-plus years with Sylvan have been successful and fulfilling- What more can you ask for from a profession!
Julie Ottenweller
Business Office Manager
I have been working with Sylvan Learning Center in Fort Wayne for over twenty years. I have really enjoyed meeting so many families. My husband, Bruce, is the owner of the Ft. Wayne Sylvan Learning Centers and the Director at our south location. We have three children. Ben is a teacher and Middle School Principal , Cara is an attorney in Chicago, and Andy is in The Tisch School of Fine Arts at NYU. We enjoy family vacations when we can get everyone together. I especially like time at home, reading, and watching college basketball.
Cheri Miller
Director of Education
I grew up in Ft. Wayne and attended Homestead High School. I graduated from IPFW with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I began subbing for Fort Wayne Lutheran Schools and Southwest Allen County Schools during the day and working at Sylvan Learning Center in the evening as an instructor. I also was the testing administrator for the Computer Based Testing Center. I decided that Sylvan was the perfect job for me and came on staff full-time as a Lead Instructor in 1996 and Director of Education in 2008. I have enjoyed working with the students and staff at Sylvan. They are the reason I love teaching! My husband, Keith, and I have two sons, Kasey and Colby, who keep us thoroughly entertained! I enjoy hanging out with my family and getting together with friends!
